Yellow Fever
And I don't mean girls. Unless that's what you call your cars. Since I've become interested in these cars, I got a few friends looking at them too. Just found a good looking deal by scanning Autotrader and called up my buddy. Turns out he wants to look at the car. He's looking for every reason to get out of his Prelude (its a piece) and a Miata seems right up his alley. Both he and I are mechanically inclined and know our way around a car. Between him and I, we have mechanical and electrical stuff covered. I think we could have some fun if we both end up with these cars. Even though I'll have a 1.6. I'll just bitch slap his ass and run while I have a chance. :fawk:
The one I pointed him toward is a blue metallic '94. Looks nice and is only going for like $3,700. If he likes it, I told him I'll personally drive him to get it since it is about 200 miles away. One thing though. The ad TITLE says 1994, but the listing says 1995 IIRC. Should I approach the situation with caution or is that likely a typo? |
Between my friend with the blue car and Myself we've converted three people so far this summer. :D

LOL converting. I can't say I'm converting yet, since I don't yet have the Miata... BUT after that, its open season and I'm going hunting with my sweater tied around the neck of my bright pink Polo and my beret tipped slightly forward.

I'll kick your ass if you really do that. lol
I've converted 5 this year to Miatas, and helped 2 turbo and 1 n/a build. On topic, it's probably a typo, but you're in good shape with either as long as the car is sound. Look at the vin, count back from then end, if the 8th digit is an R, you have a '94. If it's an S, you have a '95. |

If title and vehicle VIN match, who cares? If 94 8th digit from rear should be R on both title and chassis. If 95 it's S.

how long have you guys been together? How many unsuspecting negs have you converted?

Confessions of an MR2 enthusiast:
I've always loved the MR2. Along with that car, I've been a fanatic of cars like the Porsche 944 (hence my SN), Mazda Miata, Alfa Milano, etc. Pony cars never really apealed to me. Camaro's, Mustangs (ugh), Supras or 300ZX's... I like power and all, but I prefer a car that's low and little. I love tight turns, curvy roads, swithcbacks and hairpins. Opening the top and going on a cruise through a tight winding backroad is my ideal use of an afternoon. I always had a passion for the Miata, but it was overriden by the lust for the MR2 and its mid-engine platform. Also, the 4age is a great motor and its really easy to mod or do factory frankenstein motor work to. Its to convertible top that I love about the Miata. I don't think I'll ever put the top up, when I get one. It'll just sit in the garage when I can't go topless. Now, I'm really into cheap fun cars and practicality. The Miata seems to fit the bill. I like the style. I like the performance and I love convertibles. I can have 100X more fun at an auto-X than I can at the drag strip. A race track like Hallett would be like direct narcotic injection for me. I'm dying for track time. Hopefully I'll get some soon! |
