Many thanks Stein!

Rafa 12-10-2008 08:04 AM

Hey Stein; I just got the paypal confirmation and realized that it has my home address as the shipping address. Please disregard that address. I'll provide you with one in Miami via pm.

Thanks

Stein 12-11-2008 08:51 AM

Frame Rails are DONE! Picking them up today. Stainless hardware will be in Friday. I'll be kitting them up and packing over the weekend. I'd like to ship a large group next week so please send paypal payments to jkunkle at garnerindustries dot com. I would love to send almost all of them at one time so I don't have to hassle the shipping department too many times. I'll post up some pics tomorrow and try a test fit tonight.

Laur3ns 12-11-2008 09:13 AM

Wow, great news! I just payed through PayPal w/shipping to NL. Let me know how it goes.
And I can't wait for the pictures...

cjernigan 12-11-2008 09:32 AM

After the mounting holes are drilled, and the bolts are installed; Does that leave exposed hardware in the cabin?

Just curious, how it looks after its on the car. FM doesnt have a manual on their site.

Curious to see pictures of the final product as well.

The hardware should be under the carpet.

Please post here if money has been sent. With this many transactions at the same dollar amount and none of the Paypal names matching screen names, it's a nightmare trying to figure out who has paid, plus some are paying from someone else's account.

Picked up the parts and the stainless hardware today. Everything looks great! Plus, two lucky waiting listers will score. They ended up delivering 36 sets instead of the anticipated 34!:yippee:

Shipping starts Monday. Sorry, I didn't get them until today so I won't have pics until Monday. No home internet in the sticks FTL.

I'm going to try to get mine mounted this weekend for assembly directions and photos, plus to confirm everything is as planned.

Quick update...installed mine last night. Fit perfectly and all holes fell where I anticipated-no problems whatsoever. I took lots of pics-will post them Monday. Everyone should be really happy with them.

Laur3ns 12-13-2008 02:19 PM

Excellent news. Now go to somewhere with a card reader and Internet and get those pictures online! And I mean NOW :)

longuyen88 12-13-2008 08:48 PM

after this is all done.... you think you could do the butterfly?

:-D

kenzo42 12-13-2008 09:33 PM

I understand this stiffens up the chassis some, but from what I've read, the real stiffening comes by the butterfly brace. If this doesn't offer compatibility w/ the butterfly, I'd feel pretty limited. What do you guys think? Please no replies that entail that it's cheap, so why not.

The butterfly is pretty dang intricate creation. I'd be impressed to say the least if it can be copied for under what FM charges. I wonder if just bars straight across from the rail braces would accomplish the same fxn.

Laur3ns 12-14-2008 04:23 AM

These comments should go into the Feeler thread and not in this GB thread. However, I think the general consensus is that the rails do most, then the butterfly may add some more, not the other way around.

I bought the butterfly brace this past Friday but if you want to know how it will fit with the rails, you'll have to wait for at least 3 weeks. I live overseas and I don't think I'll get them before the new year.

Sorry to crap on your thread Stein.

Stein 12-15-2008 09:04 AM

17 Attachment(s)
Lots of pictures attached. I'll write something up on the installation soon, but right now I wanted to get these posted and get some shipped. 20 sets shipping today and tomorrow. Unfortunately, I will be travelling this week, so the next shipment will be Friday/Monday.

RotorNutFD3S 12-15-2008 09:12 AM

Damn man, awesome work!

Atlanta93LE 12-15-2008 09:34 AM

Any driving impressions yet?

All I did was drive around the square mile, one mile paved and three gravel. I intentionally drove over some of the rougher washboard sections (pretty severe) and the cowl shake is dramatically reduced. Much less rattling. No performance driving done as it is -8* F here.

nicacus 12-15-2008 11:26 AM

Dammit.. I really want some!

jayc72 12-15-2008 12:34 PM

They look exactly like the first generation FM rails that I have on my car. Nicely done.

Laur3ns 12-15-2008 02:50 PM

Nice :pitlab::skid::ky: nice nice

Stein 12-15-2008 03:02 PM

Everything that has been paid for has shipped. I'd rather not send out all of the tracking numbers if I can hlep it unless someone specifically needs one. If you haven't seen it by Friday, let me know and I will get you a tracking number.

Overseas orders shipped USPS today as well. The post office said it will be on the long side of 6-10 days due to the holiday season. Originally we estimated 17 lbs but actual packed shipping weight ended up being 19lbs 4 oz.

Stevo11 12-15-2008 03:43 PM

Hey Stein,

Let me know what I owe you if it cost more!

Cheers,
Steve

Spookyfish shipped
IcantDo55 shipped
Stein shipped
cjernigan paid-need to ship
cardriverx need payment

I ended up with 35 sets. 20 shipped, one paid and need to ship, 11 yet to pay. That leaves me with 4 sets left over for the waiting list.

In order, they are

bayonaim
3barboost
Karter74 (two sets)
druz
mightymouse
VanMSM
disturbedfan
nicacus
JustJake
sixshooter
MXslide
dizzid
ca18det

That makes 14 on the waiting list. Here is the deal. Starting from the top, they have priority. There are 4 sets available. I talked to the shop and they will do a short run of 10 for only $18/set more, so if everyone on the waiting list signs up, the first 4 get them for the original price of $107 (lower 48 states) and everyone else can still get in for $125 shipped (lower 48). Sorry I can't do the $107, but for only 10 sets, it's still a pretty good deal. I need a firm IN or OUT from everyone on the list. For those that need to pay, please do so soon.

I hope that I have everything right above, but it was a lot to track down. Let me know if there is anything that isn't correct.

Stein 12-15-2008 05:12 PM

Steveo11, your mailbox is full.

cardriverx 12-15-2008 05:13 PM

Just paid you, if it ships fri/sat/mon, thats ok, I was alittle late on payment. Thanks a ton again!!!!!

Rafa 12-15-2008 05:36 PM

I'm sure the rest of my fellow GB buyers will join me in thanking you for a job really well done! :bigtu:

It has surely been more trouble than you originally envisioned but; I'm sure you'll have many customers very pleased with the final results. ;)

Stevo11 12-15-2008 05:48 PM

dude, got your PM, have Paypal'd the extra.
Inbox now empty ;-)
cheers
Steve

P.S. What you are offering to the those on waiting list is great! You the man!

druz 12-15-2008 06:26 PM

I would still be in at $125, but a couple questions. How long are you going to wait for the people who haven't paid yet and if you then go to the waiting list how does that effect this 2nd order?

posidon42 12-15-2008 06:57 PM

Does that fuel line relocation bracket come with the kit? I don't recall you talking about this before.

nicacus 12-15-2008 07:56 PM

I was in from the begining I'm just dumb and missed this thread..
Oh well I can wait :bigtu:
