Default Group Buy: Hard Dog Roll Bars

ok im gonna start the roster now. bethania garage gave me the green light for group buy so im gonna get a headcount before asking about prices and what not. im going to post up on other forums as well. anyone know if bethania garage is a sponsor of m.net? i cant find their ad on the marketplace :(.

i doubt we will make the deadline for FM's january sale, but i am going to email them after this post to see if we can hammer something out.

Link to Hard Dog Miata Roll Bars HERE Link to original GB idea thread HERE

From your post on norcalroadsters "based on other GBs on roll bars, i think they prefer to ship to 1 location and it probably just knocks off shipping...which is pretty big for such items."

How are you going to handle distribution outside of CA? I just ordered one yesterday to take advantage of the FM free shipping. I know you don't have pricing yet, but do you predict the group buy price will still be less once shipping is added in?

why don't you get some pricing info from Bethania. IE, if X bars, then Y discount. Etc.

well thats where the 2 lists come in. hopefully its cheaper if a bulk shipment is made to one location. for others outside the area or who cant pick it up, there is the second list.

in response to your second question. i think buying during FM's free ship for roll bars is a great deal. usually group buys negate the cost of shipping plus or minus a few dollars. but shipping is a killer!

what i hope to accomplish through the gb is to provide a more time to accumulate funds a roll bar. the january deal was spur of the moment so people like i (damn, student budget) cant blow that much so soon.

To make shipping more reasonable, agree to pick the bar up at your closest freight depo, instead of getting delivery to your home. On motors that I've been sending out from here, the difference is about $70--and I get a 60% discount so the difference to average Joe would be much larger.

Shipping really is a killer in rollbars. I couldn't resist the deal at FM for just that reason.

FYI - FM offers free shipping rollbars every year around this time. However, I am sure shipping a bunch of discounted rollbars to one warehouse will be about the same deal. As for the rest of you on the second list...

Don't hate the playa, hate the game :fm:

I'd be interested in a m2 HDHCDD that fits under the hardtop, and I'd be more then willing to pick up

Simple (minded) question: Is there any reason to buy the M1 sport instead of the M2 sport? I want the simplest bar (no diagonals/ for convience and to appease the wife) and I like to lay my plastic window down flat because it isn't fogged up yet.

I guess I am going with the dual diagonals, my friend convinced me. Any reason to go with the M1 sport instead of the M2?

- padding & cover
- track legal
- not more then $425

Are we interested exclusively in Hard Dog bars, or would it be worthwhile to check into the possibility of (and pricing on) doing the GB on Boss Frog bars instead?

Just asking because I'd kind of like to snag a BF Double Maxx... and a set of frog arms to go with it.

I need a Roll bar asap. I was looking into the HDM2DD that FM is selling for $450 shipped. Can we really get a better price with a GB?

You could just buy the HD deuce. The bossfrogs are quite a bit more money are they not?

This GB isn't going anywhere fast Mike if you need a bar bad you better take advantage of the free shipping from FM.
