my friend has a mishimoto rad on his brand new civic si, professionally installed and giving to be the their rep. after 2 days of driving the rad exploded, the cap blew off and coolant went everywhere. not trying to throw people off but its something good to know.

Sorry to hear that. IMHO, I don't think a radiator can cause overpressure. A blown head gasket, yes.

paul 08-12-2008 07:34 AM

Not stopping me from buying one. Just sent payment. That local shop probably screwed something up during their "professional installation."

Saml01 08-12-2008 09:09 AM

Alright I must be like Ann Frank because I cant find a paypal address or a phone number.

edit: nevermind.

Will my stock fans fit with this rad? or should I just upgrade em now so I dont have to deal with them in the future if I want a fatter sway bar?

93inNM 08-12-2008 09:56 AM

C/O page 3 of this thread, post #45 for payment instructions. Excellent question regarding the stock fan fitment. Since 'assuming' that the rediator is for the NA's, one could easily 'assume' that it is set up for the fan mountings, but then . . . a direct answer will solve the question, eh?

scottv 08-12-2008 10:45 AM

Looks like it just shipped out! SWEET! Thanks for putting this together Sean.

zarish 08-12-2008 11:03 AM

I'm sure they will bolt up, but the question is about clearance with the stock sway bar or an aftermarket one.

93inNM 08-12-2008 10:06 PM

Well, finally managed to get away from work for a few minutes this afternoon to place my order today. Tough when you work the same hours as the business you want to order from, even more interesting when you are in a different time zone but at least now have one on order that I know will come sooner than later, if at all.

nester 08-14-2008 12:15 PM

All pending NA rads are scheduled to deliver to me on Monday, 8/18/2008. They will be shipped back out to all paid customers on the same day.

I will have tracking numbers available for all, and all will rejoice.

If anyone else wants to go ahead and pay up, I can get yours out same day too. THANKS!

supersuk 08-14-2008 02:23 PM

So did the radiator explode, or did the cap blow off?

I had a guy here who bought a rad for his suby, installed it himself, then called us to complain that he was broke down and the cap failed.

So we take a cap and coolant and my tech and we drive to the parking lot he's limped to, only to find out that one of his hoses was rubbing the fan blade and rubbed through.

Then he's like "Well, I heard some noise after I installed it, but I didn't think it was important."

disturbedfan121 08-15-2008 05:07 PM

the cap blew off, and the very bottom row was missing a couple fins. could be that he's an idiot, but just informing thats all.

Saml01 08-16-2008 01:06 AM

How come I didnt get mine for this weekend :(

supersuk 08-16-2008 10:31 PM

I'm probably going to be a while. I'm going to fabricate a housing for the Ebay fans out of aluminum sheet but that has a back seat to getting the engine pulled and rebuild started. I even ordered a metal brake for the occasion as opposed to using 2x4's to make the bends.

paul 08-18-2008 06:05 PM

I will install mine within 2 days of receiving it. Still waiting for tracking info. Nester said he was gonna ship today.

nester 08-18-2008 06:36 PM

Rads just came in 5 minutes ago. We are working to get as many out tonight as possible before UPS comes for pickup.

paul 08-18-2008 06:44 PM

Send mine first. I'm a nice guy.

and my current radiator is leaking.

nester 08-18-2008 09:15 PM

everyone's rads shipped today except the 2 internationals and the one echeck that should clear tomm.

all of those should go out tomm. still have some more left for the stragglers.

nester 08-18-2008 09:17 PM

oh and the lone NB guy... but he probably already knew that. :)

93inNM 08-18-2008 09:52 PM

Thank you very much for taking on this group buy and being prompt and informative. I certainly appreciate it, and I know my car will too!!!

ZX-Tex 08-18-2008 11:38 PM

OK so call me stupid but I am confused. Is the NB version available now?

nester 08-19-2008 12:19 AM

pjm 08-19-2008 12:18 PM

Please put NB version next to my name on front page.

thanks

nester 08-19-2008 12:38 PM

Is your order paid for? What's the name on the order.

pjm 08-19-2008 12:57 PM

Nester,

SeanE 08-19-2008 01:02 PM

nester 08-19-2008 01:02 PM

Ok. I will let you know when the NB is ready.
