Intercoolers!
I have some 22x9x3" intercoolers that I purchased for my little side business/hobby tax write-off thing..
Anyway, I ordered 10 of these with hope of making a little money back on them. They are 22x9x3" Cores, with polished cast end-tanks that measure 31 inches from endtank to endtank. The outlets are 2.5" at either end.. For miataturbo.net users, I would like to get $166 each for these. I will not rape anyone on shipping, just whatever FedEx or UPS says. http://www.gotbends.com/images/22x9x3-intercooler.jpg Let me know if you have any questions, feel free to email, pm or call me. 888-423-6377. |
They have tabs for install? Looks good.
Like he said.
Will you weld some bungs on the top or bottom for people to build brackets? I'm not looking but I know someone who is. |
There is a M8x1.25 fitting on top, as shown in the pic. there are also 2 tabs on the bottom for mounting..
http://wewt.net/gallery/forum/IMG_2602.jpg I can weld on additional tabs or fittings for a nominal fee. |
looks like a good deal, unfortunately i dont need otherwise id buy one for sure for a diy project.
I'm in for this after the 1st.
Damn I'm tired of good deals coming up *before* payday haha.. |
I will probably have some then. let me know.

disclaimer: I don't advocate this nor have I ever done it myself |
I would try that if there were any wachovias here..

I am using this same intercooler on my Vr6 turbo project. Its a really nice unit but i need to give a heads up on one thing. The outlets are not really 2.5" OD and not 2.25" so finding proper couplers is a bitch.
If these had vertical end tanks I'd be all over it.
I use 2.5" couplers on these every day. never had a problem.
--Sean |
I also stock 2.5 and 2.5-2" transition couplers in 4 ply..
Here's some more pics.. Disregard the HKS flange welded to this intercooler. It is a custom job for another customer.

So, they are technically (with the cast-in bead roll) 2-9/16"

I see the BOV flange welded to the endtank more and more, usually in the Honda camp though. What's the purpose of doing it that way as opposed to putting the flange on the piping?

I can sell you just the core, and you can build your own endtanks.. ;)
probably just because it's easy to weld to, being flat
i can't see how the bov would work any more or less effectively. |

It's for sound. The majority of the Honda guys are ricers, most of them only go turbo just for the sound of the BOV.

I would think in that position it would be quieter. Nice over generalization though.
We put it there partly for simplicity. Stock one flange, and mount it on the same position on all kits. It's also hidden from view, lending to a cleaner engine bay.
Do you have the abilty to make piping too? Be cool if you sould offer a whole kit similar to MX5projects.
I do, but I'd need a car to build it off of, which i lack.
I run the same cooler - it's a nice unit.
I'll probably get one from you later, in about a month if you'll still have any.
Who makes them? |
Bump, I still have 5 of these left!
They are made by Yonaka, a company in Canada.
I still have 4 of these left, help me re-coup my engine replacement!
;) |
Can anyone confirm or deny fitment on a 1.8 NA with A/C? I'd hate to buy one just to have it not fit with the AC. Texas is hot :(
If only I had a NA to test fit on.

How's the fitment on an NB? Don't really want to take off the bumper to check right now
Should fit fine. Yes, I still have a couple.
Just got mine today. Packaging was adequate, arrived safe and sound in good time. Thanks.
Still got a couple of these left!
nester could you shoot me an email at rollin904@yahoo.com? can't send a message and your email is blocked on the forums.
