Intercoolers!

I have some 22x9x3" intercoolers that I purchased for my little side business/hobby tax write-off thing..

Anyway, I ordered 10 of these with hope of making a little money back on them.

They are 22x9x3" Cores, with polished cast end-tanks that measure 31 inches from endtank to endtank. The outlets are 2.5" at either end..

For miataturbo.net users, I would like to get $166 each for these. I will not rape anyone on shipping, just whatever FedEx or UPS says.

Let me know if you have any questions, feel free to email, pm or call me. 888-423-6377.

They have tabs for install? Looks good.

cjernigan 05-23-2007 10:26 PM

Like he said.
Will you weld some bungs on the top or bottom for people to build brackets?
I'm not looking but I know someone who is.

nester 05-24-2007 12:18 AM

There is a M8x1.25 fitting on top, as shown in the pic. there are also 2 tabs on the bottom for mounting..

http://wewt.net/gallery/forum/IMG_2602.jpg

I can weld on additional tabs or fittings for a nominal fee.

akaryrye 05-24-2007 01:35 AM

shinobix 05-24-2007 03:44 PM

just curious, will it fit ? i think i measured like 28 inches max in the mouth of my miata. 31" will tuck in there ?

Scott

Braineack 05-24-2007 03:52 PM

:) Where there is a want there is a way. Cash advance visa, funds go to bank account use paypal to pay for shiny bits.

disclaimer: I don't advocate this nor have I ever done it myself

kotomile 05-25-2007 02:58 PM

I would try that if there were any wachovias here..

nester 05-25-2007 08:19 PM

There are in stock now. I have them in the back of my wife's SUV. Same day shipping!

I accept VISA/MC/Discover/Amex and Paypal.

nester 05-26-2007 02:48 AM

I am using this same intercooler on my Vr6 turbo project. Its a really nice unit but i need to give a heads up on one thing. The outlets are not really 2.5" OD and not 2.25" so finding proper couplers is a bitch.

TurboTim 06-01-2007 11:39 AM

If these had vertical end tanks I'd be all over it.

nester 06-01-2007 11:54 AM

I use 2.5" couplers on these every day. never had a problem.

--Sean

nester 06-01-2007 11:55 AM

I also stock 2.5 and 2.5-2" transition couplers in 4 ply..

nester 06-01-2007 12:27 PM

Here's some more pics.. Disregard the HKS flange welded to this intercooler. It is a custom job for another customer.

So, they are technically (with the cast-in bead roll) 2-9/16"

I can sell you just the core, and you can build your own endtanks.. ;)

kotomile 06-01-2007 03:13 PM

I see the BOV flange welded to the endtank more and more, usually in the Honda camp though. What's the purpose of doing it that way as opposed to putting the flange on the piping?

+1 for a good question.

Price on just the core?

Ben 06-01-2007 03:35 PM

probably just because it's easy to weld to, being flat

i can't see how the bov would work any more or less effectively.

It's for sound. The majority of the Honda guys are ricers, most of them only go turbo just for the sound of the BOV.

I would think in that position it would be quieter. Nice over generalization though.

How is it quieter? The BOV is basically outside the car when mounted in that position vs. being under the hood.

nester 06-01-2007 04:17 PM

We put it there partly for simplicity. Stock one flange, and mount it on the same position on all kits. It's also hidden from view, lending to a cleaner engine bay.

akthor 06-01-2007 05:57 PM

Do you have the abilty to make piping too? Be cool if you sould offer a whole kit similar to MX5projects.

nester 06-02-2007 11:48 AM

I do, but I'd need a car to build it off of, which i lack.

Lex 06-02-2007 12:07 PM

I run the same cooler - it's a nice unit.

RusMan 06-02-2007 09:50 PM

I'll probably get one from you later, in about a month if you'll still have any.

Who makes them?

nester 06-08-2007 10:58 PM

Bump, I still have 5 of these left!

nester 06-08-2007 11:00 PM

They are made by Yonaka, a company in Canada.

nester 06-13-2007 01:25 AM

I still have 4 of these left, help me re-coup my engine replacement!

;)

Arkmage 06-13-2007 11:41 AM

Can anyone confirm or deny fitment on a 1.8 NA with A/C? I'd hate to buy one just to have it not fit with the AC. Texas is hot :(

nester 06-13-2007 05:25 PM

If only I had a NA to test fit on.

jayc72 06-13-2007 05:34 PM

You know the dimensions. Make a cardboard template and see if it fits.

RusMan 06-14-2007 01:49 AM

Do you still have any? I think I'll buy one.

RusMan 06-14-2007 01:52 AM

How's the fitment on an NB? Don't really want to take off the bumper to check right now

nester 06-14-2007 08:14 AM

Should fit fine. Yes, I still have a couple.

JustJake 06-14-2007 06:01 PM

Just got mine today. Packaging was adequate, arrived safe and sound in good time. Thanks.

nester 06-18-2007 11:08 AM

Still got a couple of these left!

rollin904 06-20-2007 10:33 PM

nester could you shoot me an email at rollin904@yahoo.com? can't send a message and your email is blocked on the forums.

nester 06-21-2007 10:14 AM

Done!

TonyV 06-24-2007 01:50 AM

I too would be pick one up, but need confirmation on fitment on a '95 1.8l w/ PS & AC...

mxdrift 06-27-2007 06:40 PM

db84drteg 06-29-2007 05:10 PM
