two guys i know have the 1.5 i believe, they feel very good and very easy to use
So they only work with Nardi/Momo bolt patterns? Do they come with a way to disable airbag lights?
I use one myself. I can get NRG steering wheels as well, Ill have pricing later today. Moderator discount is 10% more than standard sale pricing (so $71 instead of $65:bigtu:). I can get 5 bolt patterns as well as the standard Nardi/Momo.
I can show you the layout to make a resistor that will disable the blinking Airbag light. |
hey betrayed, is there anyway to get the little handles onto my 1.5?
I haven't a clue. If anyone else knows weithor the parts between the 1.5 and the 2.5? Ill give NRG a ring.
I've never had an aftermarket steering wheel, so I'm trying to understand exactly how it goes together. An aftermarket hub goes on the steering shaft, then the quick release bolts to that, and the other half bolts to the steering wheel, correct?

and you have to have a resistor in the path somewhere to get the Air Bag light to stop blinking...which I haven't done...really wish there was an easier way lol...there might be but who knows. |
How do the NRGs lock together. Are they splined, pin'd, or what?
Some are pin'd others are ball locked
which ones are ball locked?
Does the thin mount put the wheel in the stock position and the others place it closer toward the driver? Or do the others put it in stock position and the thin place it even further away?
Thin one places the wheel closer to stock position.
The thin one uses a pin and gear mechanism. The others use a ball and lock mechanism. |
Sigh... if you had posted this last month I would be rocking a 2.5 and NRD wheel right now. It was such a pain in the ass to get all the shit for my grant.

Danki hub's are direct PNP with the air bag light, IMO much easier and if i were to do it again would have gone this route. But im currently rocking a momo hub w/ nrg 1.5 quick release and nardi wheel i love it! |

Loki, which model is that? I dont even see it on NRGs page.

do you have pictures of this setup? I'd like to see wheel location.
Do you find that it is secure enough? I'd hate to have any slop in the wheel. Its slightly closer than stock location, which i like NRG's quick releases are ball baring which is why i went with it, they advertise how the don't get "loose" which would "have any slop" as you said. My quick release was bought used and it feels as if i got it to be brand new. I am very pleased with it. Attachment 215108 http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...r/DSC07617.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...r/DSC07621.jpg Edit: The only down sides i can really think of is that the locks don't come with it :( As well as when the quick release is on, the turn signal and headlight handles are further away which took a little getting used too since i usually kept my hands on the wheel while turning on my lights or using my turn signal. |
Is the NRG short hub included in this GB by any chance? If so, do you know how much shorter it is than the momo hub offhand? I will measure tonight when I get home to see if its worth it, but I can order today if I know there is a substantial difference. Thanks!

I'll throw in my review as well, sorry no pics, but i have a Sparco hub, NRG quick release, NRG D-ring.
I love it, it is awesome, sp cool you should buy one. The release works flawlessly and is not very hard to work. As far as wheel position, it is closer to me and i really like that especially while auto-xing i can still reach the controls with my finger tips but it did take getting some used-to-ness. Great product, recommend to anyone. |
But where are the pictures?

How much slop is introduced into the steering wheel?
none for me, ill try to snap some pics for ya'll this weekend
