Prosport gauge group buy?

Ok, here is the email I got. Just follow their instructions to get the discount!

we will offer you guys 10% off your entire order. We can do this two ways. 1) each person calls in 727-572-9011 and places their order and mentions the gb club discount. 2) the members can do their own math, go to the website-add the items to your cart to get the total with shipping. Then take 10% off the total and send us the money via paypal and list the items in the notes with the payment.
Actually I do have an easier third solution. any day now we will have our new shopping cart on line and I can give you a code to use that will calculate the discount for you.

Id like to get a couple nice, inexpensive gauges, and im willing a few of you guys want to too. Im emailing them, and if I could get a discount, who would be willing to get some?

The discount will be for ANYTHING they sell. They will email me back with the specifics soon!

See next post ...

jayc72 11-22-2007 05:04 PM

I'd be interested in the following

Performance Green/White 52mm
EGT
Oil Temp
Electronic Boost

Digital Series 52mm
Air/Fuel

Then I'll sell all my autometer gauges.

elesjuan 11-22-2007 06:15 PM

I kept missing out on the group buys for the mazdaspeed forum..

Interested in White/Amber Performance:

Electronic Boost
Electronic Oil Pressure
Electronic Water Temp

Check to see if we can get a discount on the installation accys too, specifically the radiator hose adapter and oil sandwich plate.

Btw, I'll mention that you can not remove the factory water temp sending unit for the gauge cluster and install the prosport sending unit. Granted it looks identical, it won't fit.. I wasted 4 hours of my time and a heatercore trying. The damn thing would start on 2 cylinder heads I have OFF the car, but not ON the car. Oops.

Didn't measure it, but the metric converter fittings might get the sending unit installed in the water galley plug on the drivers side of the block.. I can tell you its not NPT threading, thats all I can say.

cardriverx 11-22-2007 07:21 PM

All of prosports sending units are 1/8 NPT threads.

Prosport hasent emaild me back yet (holiday), maybe ill try giving them a call tommorow.

elesjuan 11-22-2007 08:11 PM

Yeah as of most others, however I'm talking specifically about the water galley port on the drivers side of the block by the oil supply... its not NPT.

Siegel Racing 11-22-2007 10:16 PM

I'd be in for some cheap gauges. I need:

Boost
Water Temp
Oil Temp

levnubhin 11-22-2007 11:10 PM

Im intrested in-
water temp
oil temp

siegel, what color, and would you want a mechanical or electric boost gauge?

levnubhin, what color?

cjernigan 11-23-2007 01:16 AM

Last time someone started a groupbuy almost all interest was tossed when someone said something about poor visibility. Maybe that is only with the smoked lenses though. Has anyone actually seen these gauges and dealt with the glare issues? I need boost and oil temp but i won't sacrifice a few dollars to cheap out on gauges that can't be seen during the day with the top up or down.

MD.Drift 11-23-2007 01:41 AM

I'm in. I need these gauges. But you will be better getting STRI gauges. :) slightly more expensive and they don't have the smoked lens.

Premium Elec. Oil Pressure Gauge-52mm Color: Amber/White
Amber/Super White EGT Gauge
Item # 216BFWAEGT270F

Amber/White Water Temp. 52mm Gauge
Item # 216BFWAWT270F

Amber/White Oil Temp. Electrical 52mm Gauge
Item # 216BFWAOT270-F

Amber/White Electric Fuel Pressure Gauge-52mm
Item # 216BFWAFP270PSI

Premium Elec. Boost Gauge-52mm Color: Amber/White

Premium Tachometer-52mm Amber/White
Item # 216SMTASWL270-PK

MD.Drift 11-23-2007 01:44 AM

http://z1auto.com/submodel.asp?model...cat=enginemgmt for STRI. They are great quality and don't have the smoked lens like the ProSport ones. What do you guys think? And yes, I've talked about the group buy with Z1 and we need to send them a list of what we need and they will work with the prices. Sorry for posting this in a different group buy thread. If it can't be here, just delete it or move.

Saml01 11-23-2007 01:52 AM

Id be in for the

Green/White - Electric/Mechanical boost gauge & Oil Temp
Digital - AFR Gauge
+ mounting cups
+ oil sandwich plate

I too am concerned about the smoked lenses, unless the gauge needs constant power for it to be visible and if so how visible in daylight.

elesjuan 11-23-2007 03:03 AM

I have a set of ProSport gauges in my miata and can see them perfectly fine even wearing my sunglasses on a topdown day which is more than I can say for the radio. I just Want another set for my 6 so I'm in on the group buy.

I looked at the STRI gauges from the other thread, nobody ever posted prices so I google searched it to find 170+$ gauges.

In if they ever produce a real wideband O2 gauge (I think their current one only does NB), which I've heard they are working on. I'd also get a digital boost gauge then as well to match.

I'm going to use it with my LC-1, slightly less resolution since it isn't 0-5V, but good enough for what I'm wanting it for.

fourwhls 11-24-2007 07:59 AM

Id be in for a sandwich plate as well, you can take the AF gauge off for me since its not a WB gauge.

cardriverx 11-24-2007 11:06 PM

Look at the first post.

Saml01 11-24-2007 11:15 PM

Hmm, I can wait for a new shopping cart this way I dont have to hang myself on anyone.

I think you should ask them for more discount and see what they say. Tell them about all the potential business they will receive from the miataturbo forums and wherever else you post the code.

You never told me what gauge(s) in particular you were looking for, due to the low pricing, I am not posting it in the thread. PM me for specifics.

brgracer 11-26-2007 01:55 PM

Not trying to derail this group buy, but two quick notes:

1) There are visbility problems with these gauges in the day with the top down due to glare and the smoked lens. Again, as long as you know what you are getting no biggie, I just hope people know that. I looked into these gauges and passed for that reason.

2) If you are planning on getting 3+ gauges, you can get 10% off with the discount code (see package deals) at www.fastwrx.com and some of the premium gauges are also on sale so even more savings. Disclaimer: I have not ordered from fastwrx nor do I have an financial interest in the website.

Just an FYI, not trying to be a dick.

It seems some of the gauges there are more expensive than on prosports website?

Eaither way, Whoever wants the gauges please order them!

Trent 11-26-2007 04:48 PM

all my reading into the matter suggests that the only prosport guages that suffered daytime visibility problems were the blue ones. The white/green/amber gauges apparently don't share that problem as they seem to get plenty bright.

Prosport Gauges 12-05-2007 05:11 PM

jayc72 12-05-2007 05:25 PM

Just saved $32 :)

Prosport Gauges 12-05-2007 05:34 PM

Pretty cool, glad to see it is working perfect, you guys are the first forum to get the discount code.

Trent 12-05-2007 07:54 PM

unfortunately, there's a problem with the site. it won't let me choose less than a quantity of 40 electric green/white boost gauges. lol.

Sorry, but i only want one. :p

Prosport Gauges 12-06-2007 07:27 AM

Yeah, but think of how much money you would save ??

all fixed now. :bigtu:

I was the one who originally posted about visibility problems. Loved the look of my white/green/amber boost gauge mounted in the center radio 3 gauge pod in the top radio spot in my NB.

BUT, it was unreadable in the daylight with the top down. It reflects the image of whatever shirt you are wearing.

These might be better for an a-pillar pod install but I have no experience with these gauges in an a-pillar pod.

It works. I also like the new site layout.

You guys should really consider making some high quality high resolution or "action shot" of your gauges available, maybe even a user submitted section.. Its sometimes difficult to judge the clarity of them by the small images that are there.

Yeah, we are working on that, the old site had no restrictions to size, this one max width is 300

The website pictures do not do the gauges any justice, they are crisp & sharp with great color uniformity.

There you go. I imagine if you talk to them when it comes time to purchase they will work something out with you.

Yeah, I'm sure we'll hook you up..

Saml01 12-07-2007 04:27 PM

Question about the gauges. Does the map sensor for the gauge needs its own 12v + GND or just Signal + Gnd? I am curious how many more wires I have to run.

Prosport Gauges 12-07-2007 04:41 PM

actually it depends on which series you are running. The premium Series(peak/warning) gauge has a quick connect wire that goes from the gauge to the sender. that's it.

The Performance series gauge -the sender needs power, ground and signal wire to the gauge.

Saml01 12-07-2007 04:49 PM

Hmm, thats what I figured. OOOK. Not a problem.

levnubhin 03-12-2008 09:25 AM

Anyone have any feedback on these gauges? I want to order 3 but would like to here some opinions. Is the discount still available?
