Taking orders for track extraction hoods

I am going to start taking orders for my hoods. Reagular hoods are available now and integrated hoods will be available around Dec 2 - Dec 5 hopefully. Flares are also now available, but just PM me on those.

Price: $225 (either model)
Weight: 3-4 lbs more than stock, but could be closer to stock.
Construction: Fiberglass
Remember, these hoods are not perfect. There are little spots where the finish isn't 100% smooth and a two very small dings in the hood I did not see prior to making the mold. Very easy fix by some glazing putty or even filler primer. They must also be held down by hood pins as there are no oem hood catches on them.

To get on the order list a deposit of $50 is required. I should be able to make 3-4 hoods a week, so the list should move pretty fast. If you want to organize a group shipment to an area, please start a thread on that and I will help you guys out as much as possible.

All questions for the hood should be address to this thread: Let's come up with a new hood design

Interested in the flares pending further pictures. Will be sending PM (sorry just read the PM thing :/)

Bump. What's up with these?

He's made the first few.

I've got one in my garage right now, unfortunately it's not mine...shit's going to Treystler.

It's a very nice piece...well formed and comparable to OEM hood weight.

Heavier than FM we held it up next to...but also doesn't flex like the FM piece. He cast the glass off a modified OEM hood that had most of the bracing intact, making it pretty damn rigid.

I could test fit and take pics, but I think that'd be on par with giving sloppy seconds to hustler.

rharris19 01-14-2010 11:25 PM

Sorry for the delay Andrew. I am tweaking the mold for the integrated lid version. The standard one is done. I will be working to finish the mold this weekend and next week.

Savington 01-15-2010 02:30 AM

No worries, just curious.

fourwhls 02-09-2010 02:12 PM

Sent you a PM last week....Check your PM inbox.

Turbo 02-09-2010 07:47 PM

I may be interested. Since I am doing a motor swap I need to make sure the OEM hood clears before I know for sure. Shouldnt be a problem though. Simpment will be to North TX if there is anyone else in the DFW area, N. Texas or S. OK who wants to split shipping cost. I have a warehouse/shop with shipping dock and forklift so that helps with cost as well.

We can probably arrange a meeting for TXMC at MSR for the next event. I already have his hood though.Where do you live?

Pm'd ya

rharris19 02-09-2010 11:02 PM

I should have everything done and be able to bring one up when I come to Cresson on March 14th. Which version were you wanting?

I live in Providence Village in the Aubrey, TX area 76227. Let me know if something can be arranged. I will appreciate it greatly. I guess its time for me to test fit the motor and check clearances.

miatauser884 02-11-2010 11:20 AM

I might be interested in a hood. In for updates

orion4096 02-14-2010 09:21 PM

Bump for the California hoods. It sounded like we were waiting on the headlight filled version to be made a few weeks ago.

Turbo 02-15-2010 12:32 PM

A headlight filled/block off hood would be much desired for my car as well !!! If this is an option then I am all about it!!!!!

rharris19 02-15-2010 11:22 PM

The molded headlight version will be pulled next week for a final test fit on my car. I will take it on a drive at speed to make sure there are no issues with the outer front edges of the headlight covers since they have no direct support under them and just attached to the hood.

Now all I have to do is find a box big enough for these things or make a crate out of wood. Either way, i really hate shipping crap like this, but oh well. If it is the worst thing I have to deal with, then I am doing all right.

Turbo 02-16-2010 09:42 AM

I am interested in results. What about adding support to the hood or inside the headlight bucket to put hood pins to? I would imagine that if support is designed in the hood to join the sections together well there shouldnt be a problem. Let us know.

rharris19 02-16-2010 05:42 PM

I don't see it having a problem. I want to make sure though.

Arkmage 02-21-2010 12:03 PM

You going to keep making these to order in the future or is this going to be a one time shot deal? I'm think'n about getting one for the red car when we repaint it later this year (the stock hood is completely toast).

rharris19 02-21-2010 08:03 PM

We will have the molds indefinitely.

Savington 02-21-2010 11:19 PM

There should be no issues. I have my lids attached using some angle aluminum and rivets right now and they flex a little, but nothing major. If it were a stiffer mount it would be much better.

Savington 04-25-2010 12:05 AM

Rob, what's up with these?

CoralDoc 04-26-2010 06:15 AM

Looking for one of these too (headlights filled) - still available?

Savington 04-27-2010 02:13 PM

Thanks for the update via PM, Rob.

hustler 04-27-2010 03:11 PM

Painted pics will be up today.

Be sure to take them with your cell phone in a poorly lit area so there's lots of noise and motion blur. Also, make sure only 25% of the hood is actually in the picture.

I'll have your boyfriend take them if I let him out of his cage. He said you were a pretty shitty Dom and that not only did you lack confidence, but you treated him poorly. You need to learn to respect your sub and be a benevolent dom, because us dom's do not appreciate undeserving doms like yourself.

^^ Werd.. Sent ya a PM Rharris

In addition to the NB hood, I'm still interested in an NA hood, preferably full width, but one with the headlight cutouts will do at this point. Ready to make it happen any time!
