Hydra 2.7 logging and Knock calibration

Hey all,

I have a 2.7 hydra and I'm trying to figure out how to change my logging options. Right now, I know I have a chance to ping above 5000rpm and 8+psi. On my logging window, I have dropdown boxes that are greyed out and can't be changed from their default options (but I can toggle them on/off for logging purposes), I want to add a number of knock related fields, anyone?

Also, in 2.6 you ran a test during idle to check baseline engine noise, and set the knock threshold above that. I can't find where to do this in 2.7, anyone?

Thanks!

First , go to tools and make sure your experience level is set to Guru . There are a bunch of maps that aren't visible in to lower levels. Once that's done you should be able to go to maps, knock threshold to do your free rev calibration. For choosing your data logging fields I think you need to be connected to the Hydra in the car , then chose your field and just start typing what you want to log and a bunch of choices will appear. I was chasing a knock issue a while back and found it useful to log both the knock threshold and knock . Just be a where that they have different scales for some reason. Meaning a knock event won't appear higher on the graphic than the threshold. For what its worth I eventually found my problem was my timing reference angle some how got changed back to the base map. Moral to the story , keep a record of your base settings : throttle calibration , timing reference angle, wide band o2 zero and gradient . Things will hopefully get better if/when Hydra finally gets their s__it together and gets us some decent documentation for this thing. Fred B

After talking to Jeremy, I found out I don't have the extra datalogging options (I have beta, not gamma), go me. I re-adjusted the knock levels after figuring that out. I've learned more trying to figure it out than I have reading the internet (and their site, in the sad state that is in).

Anyone have their "flex fuel" option? I'm trying to figure out how that thing works. Does it scale up depending on ethanol content, or does it switch from one map to another if you have e85 or 93octane?

There should just be a fuel and timing trim. 2D map will do.
