Hydra software and Windows 10

Has anyone been brave enough to try Windows 10 with the Hydra software ? I only have one lap top ( 1st world problem) and don't want to update the operating system if it's going to render the hydra software inoperable.
Thanks Fredb

Usually when they make new operating systems, they make sure programs designed to run on (at least) the previous couple of operating systems will also run on the new system. I can't speak from experience though.

I've been screwed over enough times by Microsoft and Hydra to not trust either of them.

Last time with the windows 7 vs xp issues with the hydra software the secret was that hydra was lazy and the install path used some default from windows 7 but didnt make a note of that during install so it looked for the default pre-7 install path and couldnt find the program. You just had to copy pasta the files into the directory that hydra was looking. Not sure if there's any issue with windows 10, but so far it seems like if a program works in windows 8 it will work in windows 10.

TunerStudio works just dandy with Win10.

You can run the report under the "get windows 10" program to see if there are any conflicts in your existing installed applications.

I've had 3 customers tell me it (Hydra 2.7 software) works fine in W10, although I have not yet tried it myself.

I upgraded to Win 10 yesterday and yes the hydra 2.7 software works, not a single problem noted. But switched back after 3 hours to Win 7, I went from a 10 second start up to more then 2 minutes, there are all kinds of work arounds to be found on the net, that should cure the slow start up, none worked however, after 3 hours I called it a day and switched back to 7. Upgrading to Win 10 takes quite some time, going back was just 5 minutes. Totally happy with 7 for now.

Yes, Windows 10 and the Hydra EMS software does work. I've been running it for a few months now. At least until I blew up my turbo at the track :-|

One problem that took me a while to figure out. 15 minutes or so...

When you first upgrade to Windows 10. at some point it will run windows updates. It will install things and you won't even know about it If you don't reboot those updates blocked my USB to Serial from working; and the Hydra software that connects automatically won't see it. Your map will turn to gibberish, just look in the upper left to see if your really connected or not. If not reboot your laptop.

Other than that it works just fine.

Windows 10 Question

I hope this is no a dumb question but when running Windows 10 are you running 32 bit vs 64 bit?
Thanks in advance.

Works fine, but it doesn't like high resolution (2k+) screens in my experiences.
