Uploaded map does't match the map stored in ECU - My Fuel Map has a Nasty Hole!

The FM2 MSM I just picked up has a Hydra 2.6 in it. Every time I try to "open from ECU" it opens a seemingly different map. Sometimes the fuel map has a nasty hole (causing me to unload in 3rd) in it where the values are 0, other times the fuel map will appear correct but the ignition map will have errors, etc.

As soon as the map is uploaded from ECU to my laptop I get the error message,
"This map or settings group does not match the map or settings group stored in the ECU.
You should: 1. Open the file from the ECU OR 2. Save this file to the ECU before continuing."

Fast verify confirms the ish just ain't right.

Obviously, I can't make any tweaks to the map until I save the one already loaded on the ECU. So you can see how this might be slightly frustrating...

Any ideas?

Can you save any map to your laptop? If so, fix the issues and upload it to the ECU. Or maybe I'm not understanding your post.

I just bought the car and the previous owner had a shop install everything years ago, so I have no base map to work with. Which is why I'm trying to upload the current ECU map to my laptop. I emailed Jeremy at FM but they are pretty backlogged apparently. Chances are I'll be ditching this thing for an MS3 Pro eventually, but for now I'd like to adjust some things.

Like I said, I can upload the ECU map to my laptop but it has different errors in different places each time it gets sent to my laptop. I'll have to screen shot it to better illustrate what I'm on about. I've used a Hydra 2.6 before and never had this issue. Though I'm using a different USB serial adapter (one from DIYPNP) as I can't find the one I used to use. My thinking is, if it will connect it should work fine, but I could be wrong there.

The errors are in the fuel and timing maps mostly, which is something I don't feel comfortable messing with, given my minimal knowledge of tuning. The car runs great for the most part, so I don't want to risk messing anything up. It may be just a standard FM2 base map, but I don't know for sure.

The message you are seeing seems like it is normal for the 2.6. The issue seems to be that you do not have a base map pre-loaded on the ECU. Have you tried downloading whatever map is on the ECU, working on it offline on the laptop as if it is THE base map and re-uploading it into the ECU as a new map?

Found my old serial-USB adapter and it solved my issue. Uploaded the map from ECU to my laptop with no errors. By the time I had figured out my issue Jeremy at FM had replied.
Should anyone run into this issue in the future, he recommended this adapter, USB RS-232 Single Port Serial Adapter works with Windows 10 - CoolGear

While I was fiddling with the Hydra settings, I discovered whoever set it up initially had the wrong air temp sensor selected, as a result it was reading 180 degrees C with the car off. Car runs a bit better now...

Thanks for the replies!
