Default Part number look up tricks

Does anyone have any tricks to part number look ups? I've been going crazy here trying to find the make and model information for these part numbers I have, only able to find some bits and pieces of info depending on the part.

Its affecting my views and the number of watchers on certain items.

I'm trying to get basic make and model information, using just part numbers. Does anyone have any tricks on doing so? Rather than the google method?

I've been using gmpartsdistributor.com, gmpartsgiant.com, and gmpartszone.com.

Any help is greatly appreciated on this.

working for a dealership for 13 years I can tell you manufacturers suck for reverse look up. The way I do it here at work is take the part # enter it into the catalog, it will then cross that number to an engineering number. I can take the engineering number and then enter it into the catalog. From there it will give me a list of trucks and cars with years that it will fit.

I would assume that GM dealers can do the same thing. Our catalog is called Microcat, and they make GM cats as well as Fords, and a few others.

Now if you don't know any one at a dealer that can do that for you, go to AC Delco's website. They have a great interchange, enter the OE part # and it will give you the ACD part#. From there you can go to ACD's fitment guide and it well tell you what vehicles it fits. I did this with my toy CoPs, got the number from here, entered it at ACD, took the ACD number and did a vehicle search.

Here is the ACD website, good look with your search
