28mph over the limit...Need Online Traffic School

CHP got me right in the face... 83 in a 55. After all said and done, gonna run me about $550 with the traffic school.

So, there are about 100 fucking schools... anybody done one of these recently and have a recommendation?

But... But... I thought Samnavy could do no wrong!

miatauser884 04-07-2011 10:59 AM

The one they mail to you is even easier, if that is still an option.

y8s 04-07-2011 11:05 AM

you read through all the helpigotaticket.com sites?

kotomile 04-07-2011 12:01 PM

Trial by Declaration? :D

I did lowestpricetrafficschool.com a long time ago. Worked for me.

Ouch.

Were you in SD or up at Mugu? I almost never see CHPs on the road around here...

Funny, though. This morning on the way to work, while on El Camino (also 55) trying to get around some dude in an SUV who was pacing me, I looked down and realized I was doing slightly over 80 as well. I honestly can't remember the last time I lost track of my speed like that.

I'm liking West Texas.

18psi 04-07-2011 02:06 PM

Post results of which one you decide on and how you like it Sam.
Just got one a few weeks ago for 59 in a 45:facepalm:

turotufas 04-07-2011 02:16 PM

I got 56 in a 40. Procrastinated on this traffic school. About to do it right now at lowestpricetrafficschool.com

golftdibrad 04-07-2011 02:27 PM

get a lawyer.

Machismo 04-07-2011 04:27 PM

That sucks. Don't know if they are all the same... but here in Texas when I did online defensive driving - it was a timed deal. Each page has a ticker. Skimmed through for important info and then took test for each section. Simple, but still was time consuming to fulfill allotted time required by the state.

samnavy 04-07-2011 04:58 PM

Not gonna get a lawyer like a gingantic pussy. I'm gonna take it in the wallet like I should. I fucked up and shouldn't have been going that fast on that road with so many cars around and lots of side traffic. I totally deserve what I'm getting and will gladly pay. It was on Las Posas Rd just north of the base... a 2-lane farm road with lots of traffic. Id just gone around a guy in a Prius at over 100 and was slowing down coming up on traffic. It was dumb. The officer and I had a completely professional exchange and I was back on my way in about 5 minutes.

Ill check out the ones y'all have mentioned and get back.

turotufas 04-07-2011 05:36 PM

One hour left for me. Don't pay for the audio read along. Its a waste of money, reads too slow, and whatnot. I've fapped lol and watched a movie already. Killing time between sections. :giggle:

'Once you complete the final section and your count down clock is at 0:00, you will be required to pass a 40 question final exam by answering at least 32 questions correctly. Should you fail the final exam, you may retake it. While you're taking the final exam, you may review the course content for the answers.' This is so easy!!

Edit: What a scam! Hidden fees and like $10 to save and print a document. That right there pissed me off. And Fuck GPD. Next time I'm taking off on that fucker and I hope he tries to match my speed because into a ditch he will go.

I did one of the funny video versions. It cost a little more than the others, and it was not that funny.

I do not know if they are the same in all states, but in Florida, they sent you 2 exams. One of them was a comprehession exam from what you will learn from the video. The other exam, you fill the blanks with numbers or letters. During the video, the narrator would say, "The answer is the letter Q", and so on.

Basically he gives you all the answers to the second exam. He does not tell you what number question you are on, so you have to pay attention, and it keeps you from trying to fast forward and search for the answers. If you leave the room for a moment and he tells an answer, you are screwed. You have to get all of the given answers 100% correct, or it is an automatic fail. This ensures that you indeed watched the video, and payed attention.

At the end, you mail in the exams and video, and they mail you back a certificate.

RyanRaduechel 04-07-2011 07:27 PM

I have used IDRIVESAFELY before, reasonably priced. Really easy test. They send off the certificate of completion for you also. My last speeding adventure was 96 in 70 on I-5 15 minutes south of Thunderhill. It sucked. I was not granted traffic school, the ticket was set to maximum amount by the judge at $685.

gearhead_318 04-07-2011 11:28 PM

Read this, there's some good info in here.

In some states you can ask the offense attorney to lower your penalty/charge/speed whatever. It's worth it.
Oh, and get a V1 radar detector.

Savington 04-07-2011 11:45 PM

I used Comedy Traffic School last time I did one (like 2.5 years ago). It wasn't cheapest but it took me 25 minutes including identity verification.

jbresee 04-09-2011 02:06 PM

Younger brother insists that tickets are just part of the cost of car operation.

Before you go all hustler on me, I don't drive like he does on public roads.

samnavy 04-09-2011 03:35 PM

^Agreed, there's usually a GIRL giving me a blow when I get a ticket.
