293 HP MIATA VS. golf Vr6 turbo

http://videos.streetfire.net/hottest...547438a1c2.htm

wait is this true.....I mean I thought a miata with that kinda power would at least keep side by side.... almost 300 hp and he was left that far behind.....I thought the miata driver would at least be on his ass....

supra441979 02-24-2007 10:31 PM

yeah right! vr6 is no where near a miata with 293whp. Maybe if the miata was driving like grandma

Mach929 02-24-2007 10:49 PM

looked to me like the miata hit traffic

savior 02-24-2007 10:53 PM

yeah the miata would have run into the back of a SUV

+1

If they call that a "win" then i have "won" against lambos and vipers in my pick-em-up-truck. IN traffic of course!!! :gay:

I call that good driving by the miata driver and who ever posted that is :td:

getsidewaysd1 02-24-2007 11:37 PM

You tell em brother!

akaryrye 02-24-2007 11:45 PM

street racing is gayed out, and it was probably a close race. I drove a 2.9l t3/4 vr6 for a while...they are scary fast.

turbopezz 02-25-2007 01:21 AM

i dont think the miata is making 293hp,hes rollingon 17s or 18s.also his dual exhaust the piping tips where small.

ray_sir_6 02-25-2007 01:37 AM

Why don't they post the whp of the VR6T? They can make some insane power on those motors. I got a buddy who has a Golf with a VR6 and he is going turbo (race car, too) and looking for 500-600WHP.
VR6 Golf Road Racer

I am willing to bet that VR6 was close to 400whp pulling him that fast. I didn't see the Miata brake before the VW passed him, so that was just a FUCKING FAST VW.

92yella 02-25-2007 02:43 AM

How do you know the miata has 293 hp?

dont forget the VR6 IS ALSO A TURBO.

Snowsurfer03 02-25-2007 02:47 AM

Why are you guys still discusing this?!? WTF!!

If the miata did not let off he would have slammmmmed in to a big'ol suv!!!!!!! :ugh2: :ugh2:

Kelly 02-25-2007 02:49 AM

I'll gladly slaughter a 300 whp Miata from a roll if you guys want another video............in a couple weeks.

Don't leave us hanging, whatcha go cookin?

Kelly 02-25-2007 03:22 AM

Ditched the Hpa system. So far on the way I have a T4 60-1 with a .58 on center housing and P trim turbine wheel, Tial 38mm, some nice Magnaflow 3" exhaust goodies, a Zeitronix ZT2 with to monitor a/f, boost and EGT, a Clutchnet Kevlar sprung hub disc and beefy pp as well as all the other fun FI stuff like couplers clamps and all that BS. Should do 400 whp on pump gas pretty easily.

Snowsurfer03 02-25-2007 03:56 AM

Sweeet! Post Pics ASAP!

Maybe if I drove an MKIV. I have owned quite a few VW's and they have all been very reliable.

It should do 300 whp at 10 psi and around 400 at 20. The engine should hold up to 30 psi easily.

9 in my family, and every one was a piece of shit...but the mk3 was the best. I had a TT coupe that was comically bad. I put 7k miles on it in 8 months.

is this stock or a built 6? just curious as I've seen a few of the turbo'd vr6s stating 400whp (and they look it in videos).

the stock bits start to die at 17+ psi. I really miss the old slc. THe dubsquared mk2 vr is making 620 at 26 psi. I miss the old vw crew...too bad they were all fwd.

I went and talked to them on Saturday. Their Golf is FAST!

Kelly 02-26-2007 10:22 PM

The internals do fine well past 400 whp with just a head spacer to lower compression. The previous owner of the car installed one that is so thick I bet it dropped compression by 2 full points. Running just 10 psi from a full T4 turbo is usually pretty fucking quick. These cars only weigh 2700 lbs.

Hopefully jeff was working on my fucking transmission!!!!!!!!!! If you ever talk to those guys, send my warm regards. I've known billy since we were both skateboard punks like 12 years ago.

I remember when I thought a 2700lb car was light...then I got the miata.

Kelly 03-01-2007 10:07 PM

I don't think its light. Its just not a heavyweight.
