949 Racing cycling kit

We are taking the first step towards making a small batch of 949 Racing branded jerseys and bib shorts. We have selected Eliel Cycling as our supplier. Small new company located an hour away from us here in Cali. They only do higher end gear so no cheap baggy and hot jerseys. This gear is in the Castelli/Rapha zone as far as fit, comfort, function and durability. I'm very picky about my cycling kit so rest assured, it's the goods. Men's ? Eliel Cycling

Prices include free shipping. Ordering will close January 21st. Kit will ship mid March

$139 Mavericks Aero Jersey
$99 Coronado Jersey
$189 Laguna Seca Bib Shorts

You will have two choices on jerseys, one choice on bib shorts
The Mavericks jersey is a lightweight and tight fitting aero race jersey. This is not the jersey for riders with a significant gut or muffin top. The Coronado is a more relaxed fit and a more luxurious material. If you don't race, the Coronado is the ticket.

This is the rough artwork so far. Final kit will look pretty much like this. The gray panel here is somewhat silver in actuality. Orange is our signature orange. We chose white to keep the ride cool in hot weather but darker panels front and back to hide road grime a bit better.

What I'm looking for here is emails from anyone who is interested and what size. If we have enough interest, we'll go forward with production. We are only make a handful of these and they'll all be prepaid. So no leftovers. info@949racing.com with "Cycling kit" as the subject line if you are interested. Include item and qty you are interested in. If there is enough interest to make the minimums, we'll do it. Email us ASAP if you want in.

Damnit now I wish I got the orange tarmac.

As of today, we don't have enough email responses to do the kit. If I fill the order anyway, my personal jersey effectively costs me $600 :(

If you want in, email me today

How 'relaxed' or 'causal' is the coronado? My hivis jersey is 'relaxed' and is not fun to be in, baggy. My voler is 'athletic/club' and is nice, but could be tighter.

I don't want skin tight, don't want baggy. Coronado the one?

Nothing Eliel makes is baggy. Coronado just has room everywhere. Mavericks Aero is skin tight. There is a model in between the two that is very snug but with a tad more room and heavier material than the Mavericks Aero. I figured guys that don't race will want a less expensive and roomier jersey that is also $50 less than the top of the line Mavericks. So I chose the full race Mavericks, and high performance but more relaxed fit Coronado two steps down.

In the cycling apparel industry, pro fit means skin tight, tapered torso, waist narrower than shoulders. Club cut means room everywhere and kinda square, with waist same width as shoulders. Square club cuts typically have huge arm holes that flap around unless you weight 230lbs at 5-11". The Coronado would sausage a 230lb rider unless he ordered XXL. So not quite a club cut but much less tapered than the Mavericks. Also, the Mavericks has its arms attached pointing about 45° forward. It actually binds and bunches when you are standing straight. Get on a bike and stretch out though, and everything goes neutral without bunching or wrinkles. Pretty trick. The Coronado arms are only a few degrees forward, so better for MTB, more upright positions and après bike activities.

OK, I'll take your word for it. You tend to have good taste.

Emailed.

Emailed. I don't race. I probably need the coronado. Not fat, but I'm nowhere near the 5% body fat of the competitive swimming days, and even if I was I have swimmer upper body mass.
