Glad too see some real testing on the AR-1. Have you decided on a new brand name for gt86 parts or is this the start of the Super86 brand?

We'll do a dedicated test day on stickers withn Vegas next week. No plans for a new brand. 949 Racing is all platforms, wheels primarily. Supermiata is just Miata bits. Xida is its own brand. We're a small company. Adding another website and managing another brand is more than we have resources for. Beyond that, we are still focused on the NA/NB parts-wise. Just a few forays outside of that platform for Xidas. |
Can confirm, car is a total blast to drive. So, so easy, rotates freely but doesn't over-rotate. Loves to just take a set in a mild 4-wheel slide with the steering wheel almost straight and the throttle planted. Nirvana.

Xida testing at Streets of Willow a few weeks ago. 1:23.475 CCW. Apparently it's a new N/A 86 lap record by about 4 seconds. We were working through spring combos for the Street spring pack and Race spring pack. Me driving.

This car is so much fun to drive. |
Another track record during testing of Xida prototypes, this in final production configuration. Overall track record for an 86 with any engine or tire for this track configuration.
Sonny driving. |
Buttonwillow 13CW
Another 86 NA and Mod class track record. That min speed through Riverside is nutty. We have worked on setup over the last few events. I haven't been there for most events so all diagnostics and tuning were done afterwards. Finally got the balance spot on between low speed mechanical grip and aero balance. Just a duck tail and cheap ebay front spoiler but they produce enough downforce to affect the car to the tune of about .5s/lap. Enjoy.

Haven't updated this in a while because, it's notamiata.
Xidas for the 86 are in production. Linky Xida coilovers 86 FRS BRZ Not taking pre-orders just yet. Probably in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, here's the latest on the Blubster. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...dbea4c70d5.jpg |
Nice! Right now I'm planning on picking up a 2nd gen when they are released. And from what I understand the chassis is basically the same and it hasn't gained much weight due to the use of aluminum. Hopefully these will work on the 2nd gen with minor tweaks as well.

Great weekend at CVR with Speed Ventures. Blub had 5 different drivers, total of 4.7hrs of track time. Lowered our existing lap record by almost to 2s, to a 1:56.898, in 80° with 100+° track temps and 15-20mph wind. Car never missed a beat or ran hot.
Entered the TRD Series TT and won Touring class while were at it. Video coming. The grip of this car is just nuts. Even on 25+ heat cycle A052's, we'd just drive around other cars on track. Balance is flawless. What a blast. Videos coming later. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f17c790f96.jpg |
