Default 2013 Porsche GT3 Cup Car driving at Laguna Seca

Some of you may have been driving on the track friday before 2017 MMRLS, and were all passed many times by a very humble man named Bob Tachevsky (or something polish like that) driving a black and blue 2013 GT3 cup car.

Dude does around 20 days at laguna per year, and was running a 1:32 average on old Hoosiers, WITH traffic. His PB at Laguna is 1:30, and he's waiting and practicing for when the temps get cooler to throw on the sticker Hoosiers and go for the sub 1:30 personal best.

His car was so amazing, it has 3 fuel pumps, a primary, a secondary, and some type of scavenging one. There is a button in the car that he can push to get another 2 laps after the car runs out of fuel (maybe some small extra reservoir). He said it had optional fast refuel components, and no other upgrades. I forget who he said does the alignment and maintenance work, but Bob simply stated, "Im just the driver."

I really couldn't believe such a simple car (minimal aero, 400whp, 3000 pounds wet plus driver) was so fast. Maybe its just cuz racecar.

Bob said the car won its class at petit le mans, and he bought it used.

Anyways, that's all I can remember, I waited too long to post this.

Here is a 2014 version of the same car...

A quick internet search says he may be lying a bit.

The only car I saw matching that description was, I believe, a 2015 or newer...

I may have missed the car you're talking about, but this one looked like a street car, not a former race car?

Yeah that's not the guy, his trailer was SUPER far away from the paddocks. He was just hangin out by himself. Way past the restaurant booth thing, at the edge of the parking lot.

Seems a little far fetched that he is going as fast as Randy Pobst on the same track with more than double the power in a 918 or P1.

I mean, not really, those are street cars.

Oh, he was saying that the car did 1:28 with a professional driver, and wants to get within 2 seconds of that time, he said he can be happy with that.

He was much faster than me on Friday, but that's not saying much. Best lap on Friday (first day at the track, first track day with turbo installed) was a 1:49.042. I can easily see the car sub 1:40 that day. I lack the knowledge and experience to say if sub 1:30 is possible with that car with fresh Hoosiers.
