Advice needed on Floor Jack purchase
So I've owned and used enough crappy floor jacks and I want to get a nice one now. I have seen some where the part that contacts the car is large and rubber...these seem like they would be good for avoiding damage to the jack points on a vehicle. I also want something with a longer handle that only takes a 2 or three pumps to jack a vehicle up fully. Of course I want something at a good price too...and that will last me awhile...advice???

There are other floor jacks...then there is this one http://www.etoolcart.com/index.asp?P...ROD&ProdID=331
Get it and don't look back. Mine is going on 4 years now and has been awesome. |
Costco $60, 2 tons. love it.

2 ton hell you don't get much lift out of those 400$ for a jack wtf. my engine puller was less than that.

I have a husky from home depot, it was like $40, has worked fine.
|
I also have a hi-lift jack which I use a lot more on the jeep

Our latest 3ton craftsmen started leaking about a week after we started using it. It seems they are getting realy cheap on making jacks now a days.

Got the sam's club Michelin jack for $65...squeaking good. :eek5:

my 5 year old 3ton craftsman is still going strong, picks up my 6000lb truck fine too

jacks for miatas are almost worthless by themselves. none are low enough.
Just try them out when you see them. honestly I dont mind pumping a few times but the most important feature is a SMOOTH release when you twist the handle. my harbor freight jack has a lot of stiction and goes from "i wont budge" to "was that my foot?" in a quarter turn. |
My walmart scissor jack PWNS.
Doh. |
Maybe ask this guy what he used, looks good to me

Almost looks like he used bottle jacks on blocks and used some autocross jacking technique to get in and get out.
