Translation I was given:
"Don't kill people
What if they have a kitty at home?"

^ Love that.

It reminds me of this iconic poster, created in 2022 by artist Harrell Fletcher:

The one redeeming quality of AI-based image generating tools is that they allow people like me, who have zero artistic ability, to have an idea for a funny image and then be able to actualize it.

I just created this. Those of a certain age may chuckle:

I posted about this cat a while ago. She's technically not our cat, but we appear to be her humans. I couldn't figure out what she kept whining about until yesterday. In addition to food and wanting to go outside, she whines for me to sit down so she can hop in my lap and take a nap.

I've never encountered a cat like this. She likes several people on our street and doesn't like her owners (for good reason). We feed her, play with her, and relax with her. She's never bit at me, and has no problem being picked up or carried around. Her actual name is Peaches, but we call her No No (she was always trying to get in the house).

Anyone else have a cat like this? I had cats growing up, but they were never this sweet and docile.

We have adopted several of the neighbors' cats over the years. They leave them defenseless in some cases (declawed, with crossed eyes), unfed, covered in fleas, unmedicated (emaciated from thyroid issues), punctured and infected, etc. Cats vanish into my home and live in comfort, love, and safety for many years. One set of neighbors don't even ask, "have you seen my cat?" because there's 3 more in their yard.

Rescue always, cats and dogs. Buying a purebred dog from a breeder takes a home and therefore a life from another dog. The mutt will not get a home, but will live only a few years, if not murdered by the county.

We’ve adopted 2 cats over the years. Actually, our dog adopted the first - she was a German Shepherd who disliked almost everyone, and wasn’t even that sure about me. My wife called me to save the poor kitten before Sam attacked her; by the time I got there the kitten was sitting between the dog’s front paws, eating from her bowl. After a couple days it was apparent that she was our new pet. Unfortunately, she also came with a severe ear mite infestation. A couple weeks of treatment didn’t work, so we had to have her put down.

The second was a neighbor’s that used to come over every day, used to wait on our front porch for one of us to get home. She was about 6 years old, and had 6 toes on the front feet, which I guess isn’t that unusual. She was very affectionate, don’t know what the neighbor’s problem with her was but we ended up keeping her. Vet said she was very healthy and obviously never mistreated. She was absolutely an outdoor cat, which I guess is why she disappeared after 3 years. Probably not a happy ending.

After about 20 years pet-free, we adopted a rescue hound-pointer-spaniel mix. Great dog and a good result for all.
