Neighbor's tree came down last night. Giant Oak, which was in much worse shape than it appeared from the outside. Narrowly missed my power lines but left a huge mess of branches in my yard, and on my roof.
I'm really afraid they will come down on the house one day.... luckily since i live in a ridiculous county, my screen PATIO structure can hold its own: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...9d91d36195.png https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...ca067a06fa.png and yes i removed my fireplace. |
That's fucking insane. And just a waste of steel.

A Florida Man sent me this photo:
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...928a0fb968.png He referred to it as a Demogorgon, which I looked up online and found to be a reference to a TV show called Stranger Things which seems to be about a homosexual boy and an androgynous-looking girl who gets frequent nosebleeds and enjoys eating frozen waffles. |

I love this guy. Starfleet Academy is on the chopping block this time.

I found Lower Decks and Picard to both be quite enjoyable.
I haven't been able to really get into Discovery or Strange New Worlds, for some reason. But speaking of the future, this weekend I decided it was time to get with the 21st Century and learn how to use KiCAD. I must say, the learning curve was nowhere near as steep as I expected, and compared to ExpressPCB, it's soooooo much nicer. The rat's nest is quick and intuitive, routing-assist with adjustable rules works very well, and being able to download pre-built footprints and 3d models for damn near every component in existence (many straight from the manufacturer or vendor) is a huge time saver. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e4dda3e8a2.png Some of the functions are a bit silly. Like, do I actually *need* real-time raytracing in the 3d renderer? No, I absolutely do not. But it's fun. :) https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...fc1b603e19.png |
KiCAD is decent, you could look at Eagle too (or whatever it is called today).
One of the last PCBs I designed (2009 ish) 16 layer 0.032", 2 sided, blind-buried, 3mil trace and space. Pretty advanced for the time. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f0cec5d78f.jpg |
After many years of making pens, I have become sensitized to CA glue. So, to mitigate the reaction (like a severe head cold), I decided to make a fume hood. Red, because that is the color of my house, and I had leftover paint. Obviously, it is not finished.

Yeah, you got me beat. I top out at 4 layers and components large enough to be seen with the naked eye.

I still use the pen which you made for me quite often. Every large purchase order I've issued over the past 8 years has been signed with it, as were the purchasing documents for my house. Unrelated: 1: I was aware that transvestism is much more common among sex workers in south-east Asia (generally) and in Bangkok (in particular) than in most other regions. 1a: ... and that for many western tourists seeking to solicit sex-for-hire in this region, that is actually part of the allure. However, 2: I would never have guessed that it was *so* common that hotels kept pre-printed forms, in English, at the front desk on account of it: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...c63c6cf55c.png |

Oh, Jesus.
We already did this five years ago when he actually died. I'm going to post a different furry for every time that stupid meme gets pasted again. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...6b57b3d550.png Edit: hey, look at that, IB fixed the image embedding. |
