Nah, someone just forgot to initialize a field. it's pretty common to fill memory with 0xdeadbeef when allocating it.

Each of the bins on the first floor near the freight elevator has a sign on it, indicating whether it is for scrap wire, electronics / computers, or metal.

Yesterday, I found one of the two bins labeled “SCRAP WIRE (NO ELECTRONICS)” freshly filled with a load of monitors, hard drives, keyboards, etc.
