Thats pretty much how Ive felt about them as well. I just know that there are exceptions like cowboy beebop where the english version was worlds better.

 

Yeah, for sure. None of the ones listed before would be in that category though, in my opinion. All of them are better with subs.

 

 

"Another" is a great anime, too. Dark as hell. It's like Final Destination, except it doesn't suck.

 

Also, I still don't get it. Why is Gooby inside Dolan's anus, and why is this funny?

I have to disagree. While I do prefer 90% of anime subbed, most of the ones I listed are much better dubbed, in my opinion. The series that were scheduled to air on Toonami really got some Grade A voice work.

OUTLAW STAR-favorite series. I like subbed/dubbed, but prefer the English voice acting.

Gurren Lagann is absolutely brilliant in English.
Hellsing...come one, man. You know that voice....
Evangelion, I like both. You get some real flavor with English, though.
Same goes for nearly all of the Mobile Suit Gundam series.

Trigun, Elfin Lied(especially this one), Death Note, FLCL...subbed for sure. Add Angel Beats to that list, too.

Edit:Toonami had the best commercials....

Just to name a few. A few of those were ones that took me forever to watch because my initial impressions and/or assumptions about them were totally wrong.

I do this way too often. It's a bad habit. I almost didn't watch Angel Beats because it "looked stupid", but oh man...I was so wrong.

And then after that, we still have one more to wait for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I guess it's all personal preference. Not saying those particular ones are badly dubbed, just that I prefer subtitles in almost all cases.

And yes to at least Angel Beats, Melancholy and Spice and Wolf, the others in that list I haven't seen. Samurai Champloo is one I have been wanting to sit down and watch for forever, since it is directed by Watanabe, from Cowboy Bebop, and has a good hip hop soundtrack. Just never got around to it. One day.

Samurai Champloo is pretty awesome. One of my favorites. I also need to add Shiki to the list. For a messed up creepy anime movie, try Perfect Blue.

I'm not sure why everything I've been naming is dark and creepy...

Angel beats is retarded good. It's the first of that type of series that I have watched and it just blew me away. I started it and finished it in one night.

+1 to Samurai Champloo, haven't seen it yet, but I hear it's great. Afro Samurai is also supposed to be right up there with the best of them.
