Dopp, what'd that cost? Did you prep it in any way, or just send it out?

If you read any stories of a WV hunter getting mauled by a black bear he was trying to kill... it was probably me.

No prep work needed as they sand blasted the cover before paint. I did strip all the old paint off first thinking I was going to just rattle can it...prepped or not didn't change the price. It would have been $50, but I wanted the prism topcoat and they didn't normally stock that, so I had to buy the powder (they ordered it and added it to my bill) and that was a whopping $25 for the 1lb bag (min. order). So $75 OTD for the whole thing, not bad at all really. I had requested a dark grey base coat though, but I'm happy with the black.

Now I want to have all the zinc coated brackets, brake cylinder hardline and a few other things painted. To add to that, I'm thinking about replacing the most obvious hardware with stainless or titanium allen hardware lol....what a slippery slope.

This little guy just showed up on my desk. Then he showed up on the floor, and finally he showed up on the bottom of my shoe.

I have 2 of the same 2 lcds are work, one VGA and DVI. At 1920x1080 you can see the VGA edges and text are blury were the DVI is clear.

In fact, I am feeling so self-rightous this morning, and I am so secure in the fundamental soundness of my retort to this argument, that I am going to provide concrete evidence to refute it once and for all.

Here are eight pictures which I took last night of my monitor at home while viewing this thread. This is a 28" Hanns-G HH281 running at its native resolution of 1920 x 1200.

Four of these images were taken with the monitor connected to the video card via HDMI, and the other four via VGA. I adjusted the "phase" and "clock" settings in VGA mode for best picture. Tell me which ones are which.

Can't tell, All I see is that weird strobe effect you get from looking at little squares on a monitor.

In the interest of allowing others to guess as well, I'm not going to reveal the answers just yet or tell you what your score was. I'm hoping jeff will chime in with a real answer. If he hasn't by Monday, I'll publish the answers then.

Anybody else care to take a guess?

Yeah, it turns out to be surprisingly difficult to take a good-quality photo of an LCD monitor when the lens is a few inches from the screen. There was a lot of flicker, moire and color-distortion in both VGA and HDMI. I tried to get the shots as close as possible, and I selected areas from both sets of photos that seemed to suffer the least from camera-induced distortion.

Also, Y U no liek ponee?

Needs even more circuit boards stacked on top of one another (perhaps with one mounted upside-down, and another oriented vertically), rather than having the entire design placed onto a single board.
