you still mad about your non-existent 350whp no a 1.6 on a 2560?
its ok sweetie, unwad those panties and come back when you have a plot for us.

oh and learn a thing or two about how turbocharger flow and engine flow relates to energy content in a fuel type:giggle:

nitrodann 12-10-2012 01:11 AM

Nah bro you have just been really agro lately, chill out.

Last time I went to a smaller meet and actually raced, I ran this guy when he was N/A.
It was still a 441 with a 242/248 RPM cam. Made ~550whp NA. I was in an LS2 based 445ci Fbody. About even. Hes TT now and has made 1200whp.

Nowadays with the DFW/Houston Rivalry the big thing is mile racing and high roll shit. Dallas Performance is putting out some 1200hp Gallardos, there are always the Supras, and TT Vipers and some LSx based builds and some TT 991s sprinkled in.
To be a strong competitor you need at least 1K hp.
Buddy ran 180 NA (standing mile) in an Fbody and the guys from LS1tech didnt even notice him.

Stuff like this at the big events TX2k and the Texas Mile
LMR TTG vs SW

At the smaller events on the street still see lots of LSx based strokers, H/C LS cars, and some KB termis. Last time I took the Z out I was in the slowest group of cars at the meet. I trap around 115.

Shit from TX2k12

Years ago alot of the fast guys were parts of dfwss and ricekillers.
DFWSS race

18psi 12-10-2012 01:38 AM

that's cool. at least you're posting videos now. too bad its all stuff I've already seen on youtube (tx2kxx and ricekiller, 1320, grab-a-lane, some of the florida guys' chanels). very quick cars. but I'm not talking about events. obviously those always gather the top dogs with their $200k+ cars. I'm talking about local runs like the miata one we got in a tickle fight about...

I keep searching the net for miata turbo videos, it makes me sad that there are so few (at least that I have seen/know about) and all the hits you get when putting in "miata turbo, turbo miata, fast miata, boosted miata, big turbo miata, etc" are already stuff I've seen.

I'm almost tempted to make a different thread, similar to this, but dedicated ONLY to turbo miatas. Or swapped+turbo'd. Either works.

some of the less boring local runs

like I said, probably reposts, and done with a terrible camera, but whatever.
I'll try to dig up more later. I know I have them, don't remember where.
With current miata I plan to take a lot more videos. If only just for my memories.

Feeling better mate?

Dann

18psi 12-10-2012 01:56 AM

I love "these late model 2.5 things"..
..check post above ;)

Though that seems to be for an n/a one

nitrodann 12-10-2012 02:08 AM

Yeah a mate wanted to to sound like a Subaru and requested the unequal length headers.

Sounds awesome.

Goes like an auto Liberty (Legacy) with intake and exhaust.

Your still jealous of his shiny parts though huh :makeout:

That is the worst turbo placement for any manifold I have ever seen on a miata.

nitrodann 12-10-2012 02:28 AM

lol why is that?

Look at the dyno graph.

Built in 2 days including engine out and back in and IC piping. Fits in the bay fine, lots of space to work on it etc.

Are you seriously asking me why I think that's bad placement for a turbo? Really?

Yeah, I saw the graph. Looks like a dynojet on steroids. Looks like a rush job because that manifold is almost frighteningly bad.

Its a mainline.

Un-fudgeable.

Also I dont understand why the position of the flange on a log makes any difference at all whatsoever. Dyno disagrees with you.

Nice numbers 18, very broad powerband.

When did people stop discussing ideas and instead insulted and then pussied out when it came to discussing it around here?

Heaps of 'I don't know why but that'sa bad idea" lately. Pick up a welder and find out.
