Airsoft?
Do any of you sweeties play airsoft? You know, where grown ass men shoot at each other with bb guns? I think it is fun, and didn't know if anyone else played. I will post pics of my gear tomorrow if anyone else plays.

I played airsoft when I was a kid, but we only had pistols so we could only hit each other inside 15 yards. I prefer paintball.

Ahhhh yes airsoft. P90 replica ftw. Lol. Pretty fun to play with a bunch of people at an abandoned/unoccupied at the time construction site. Gotta love it. Lol. The more fps the better, especially close combat. Hahah

My younger brother has a few guns. He's put some money into upgrading them too. I think one is an M4 with a red/green dot sight, upgraded barrel, Lipo battery, some kind of battery-driven giant ammo hopper. All I know is that it shoots fast in both ways. It's not something I'd want to be on the receiving end of, even 50 feet away.

No FPS Limit on games I play so I use this beast. It will destroy a snapple bottle in one hit at 20 yards.
850FPS almost 100yrd effective range. I run .45's http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a67...rsoft/VSR1.jpg Attachment 187824 Attachment 187825 |

Edit for Jeff: We usually play at tactical paintball near san antonio, I got tossed in the slammer due to a dumbassed buddy with a paint gun out my window, he was 17 and I was 18 so I took all of the garbage since I was 2 months older, and I was an adult and he wasn't. (I am still not that growed up lol.) So yeah, I have not owned a paintball gun since then, but I did have a tippman 98 with a flatline barrel when those were hotish. |
I played until I was like 14 or so. I have an old Tokyo Marui MP5 SD6 lying around and a KSC Mac-10.
Paintball was always more my sport: http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photo...22918_4386.jpg ^^ Me playing snake at the 2008 World Cup. |
One time I shot my sister point blank in the forhead with my D-Eagle because she locked me out of the house. Showed that bitch wassup.

We always played Assassin when I was in school (usually with suction cup dart guns). The only rules were that you could not go into someone's house. Other than that it was open season.

So, I've played quite a bit of paintball (woods, speedball, and urban assault), and I've been to an indoor lasertag arena once (that was funner than I thought it would be) but I had absolutely no idea that airsoft was actually played outside of people's backyards.
How does this work, precisely? I mean, with most of the little toy pistols I've seen sitting on department store shelves, I can't even imagine that you'd know when you'd been hit. |

You know when you've been hit, in my experience it feels like a bee sting depending on how close you are to you're assailant. |
I should introduce airsoft in this house. Without telling my roommates of course :giggle:

In lasertag, a central server is wirelessly connected to all players' weapons and receivers. When you are hit, the computer does some combination of incrementing a scorecounter, disabling your weapon for some period of time, and / or giving you an aural and visual alert that you have been hit. In paintball, it's pretty damned obvious when you are hit, because you now have paint all over you. There is some small degree of honor-system involved (particularly in woodsball), however referees are scattered about the field to inspect players for evidence of death and mediate hit / no-hit disputes. If you are hit (or declared to be hit), you are dead and you exit the playfield. (In longer games, you may be permitted to respawn after some period of time.) In airsoft, I can't quite see how scorekeeping / moderating is achieved, unless you simply count on every single player to A: notice that they've been hit, and B: be truthful. |

And if they don't call themselves out I'll shoot out one of their teeth.
