Default A lesson in investments for you Noobs

Buy a popular, very common, no thrills, everyday, run-of-the-mill, cheap sports car for lets say 18K.

Store it for 18 years.

Sell it for 25K.

Make 7k return on your investment! Easiest 1.3% return you'll ever make. Let this be a lesson, never put your savings away in a Roth IRA, that would be plain silly.

And why does it have over 400 miles?

I'll give him $3500.

i just saw the m.net post and was thinking the same thing, what a dumbass...

on the same note in the back of car and driver or road and track some one bought an ad, the add gives examples on "investment grade automobiles" while things like the CGT is on it so is the SSR, i really do not see that stupid truck going way up in value.

Don't forget inflation. That car is worth 28k now.... He should have just spent it. He would have at least broken even.

haha i was thinking something along those lines.....like crush the car by dropping the thousands of pounds of quarters i've been saving over the years in my basement (because it's a good way to save money) onto it

If I were rich I'd buy it, strip it, toss in a twin turbo LS7 and send pictures to the dude to show him I kept it the way it is.

LOL this reminds me of an incident back in my Harley days, late 70's through the 80's

A friend bought a mint 1970 Electra-Glide from a Shriner. The owner would not sell it unless my friend promised him we would not modify it. My friend promised and a year later we had stripped the bike, chromed everything that could be chromed, painted it black, installed a kick starter, installed a springer front end, and a suicide clutch (foot clutch, side shifter).

It was a totally different bike, the original owner would have **** his pants if he saw that bike, but it was Beautiful
