Android Bionic vs Iphone 4s

I'm getting a new phone tomorrow and can't decide which one to get. Do you guys have an opinion?

gearhead_318 03-10-2012 10:00 PM

A friend of my brother got a new iPhone 4s for whatever they cost, 300 or 400 I think, and then got a $85/month plan, and all that is with his military discount. That being said I'd go with whatever is cheaper.

Which carrier?

shuiend 03-10-2012 10:39 PM

If you are on a carrier that has 4G LTE available in your area, I would make sure you get a phone that can use it. If you are on verizon I highly recommend the Galaxy Nexus.

gearhead_318 03-10-2012 10:40 PM

Sprint I think.

I will almost always vote android over iphone. But Motorola phone are usually not very good.

On a side note the galaxy nexus is pretty awesome.

kenzo42 03-10-2012 10:55 PM

I have Verizon.

Iphone just seem so phaggoty.

kenzo42 03-10-2012 10:58 PM

Oh btw, the Galaxy Nexus is $290 vs $60 for the Bionic. Not sure if worth the price difference.

Galaxy SII Skyrocket? It can use 4G LTE.

I just got one today. I get semi wood using it.

EDIT: god dammit you have verizon, I have no idea if verizon has it.

galaxy nexus.. i just upgraded

Bryce 03-11-2012 03:47 AM

FYI att guys, the galaxy s2 Skyrocket HD should be coming out soon. I'm waiting for that. Higher resolution screen and larger batter than the regular skyrocket should be pretty awesome.

I <3 my Galaxy Nexus. How much is the iPhone 4s?

hustler 03-11-2012 10:46 AM

GSII on Sprint, like a bauce.

I have an EVO3D because the GSII's availability in the US seemed to be an endless court battle. If the GSII Note becomes available on Sprint, I may upgrade out of contract.

The Nexus might be worth waiting for. That will probably be my next phone.

Reverant 03-11-2012 11:59 AM

Will hopefully get a Sony Xperia S in a month or so. So bauce.

No external sd card on the nexus. That is something I DO NOT want to support. Looks like the skyrocket hd is going to have the same screen as the as the nexus though. I'm stuck with att still because I still have an unlimited data plan. Due for an upgrade on the 21st of May.

32GB internal though. How often do you pull your current card? I never, ever pull mine. However, I may throw a 32GB card in my card and use it for data and video soon.

aaronc7 03-11-2012 12:36 PM

cool thing about the nexus' storage is, you can use the 32gb for whatever. 32gb worth of apps, or no apps and all music, or whatever you like. Last phone I had was strict XX MB for apps, xx GB for other, i hit the app limit and it was annoying.

Bryce 03-11-2012 12:38 PM

Mine gets pulled at least once a month. I have a few reasons for liking an external sd.
1: Its better than the iphone.
2: Upgradable to 64gb or more.
3: Fixed internal-only memory will call for a premium, price-wise(all iDevices, maybe the next galaxy nexus variant if it makes enough revenue), whereas with external storage, I can buy one large SD card and transfer it to my next new phone. All of my media will be there, and I won't have to pay a premium for the larger internal sd storage size.
4: Transferring data made quick an easy with a microsd-sd card adapter.
5: This isolated to a few phones, but noteworthy: Samsung captivate users running most ice cream sandwich ports are running into an error that is causing the phone's internal sd card to be inaccessible, permanently, until a fix is found. They are still able to use the phone though, by installing the OS on the external sd. Pretty scary stuff if a fix isn't found and its the reason I haven't flashed 4.0 yet.
