Another hidden treasure this week! This one should be good.

So my dad says "When your down at the shop pick up my carburetor for the T-Bird and list that for me when you get a chance". Ok, so while I was at the shop taking measurements on the Honda ATV I checked around for this "carburetor" and found this.
Attachment 191039 Attachment 191040 Attachment 191041 Attachment 191042 Holy fuck me! I'm going to work on cleaning it up now and hopefully I can get it listed today. From the little I know about these they are super hard to come by. This week has been a god damn goldmine for me. The Honda has had over 470 views already in a matter of 24 hours. 25 fucking people watching it and over a dozen emails. I've never had this much interest in anything I've listed before. Now I find this thing! If any of you guys have in helpful info on this please share! I know its good, but I don't know too much about it. I'm hoping one of you older guys might have some input. :bigtu: |
I found this:
Offenhauser Tri-Power Intake Part # 3199 Y-Block http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...1576&viewitem= |

So far I haven't come across this exact setup, but just the individual pieces, like this auction. I was just working on cleaning it up and the middle carb is hard to turn. There's also a couple cosmetic issues I can see when up close. Hopefully even in this condition it'll pull in some good money. |

Well I got it cleaned up halfway decent. I don't want to go overboard just because the simple fact that it came from a junk yard motor 10 years ago means it obviously needs work. So I'll have to list it as so and leave the rest for whoever rebuilds it.
Attachment 191028 After some searching around last night it seems that the manifold isn't as rare as the carbs. Due to the fact that its a OEM setup thats completely intact (although it needs work) I have a feeling thats what will make it a popular listing. I'm going to list it Monday. The number I have in my head is $2500, so I need to figure out how to list it accordingly without eating an assload of fees. The ATV is currently at 772 views, 33 watchers and 3 bids in less than 48 hours. Due to the massive amount of interest in this thing I'm going to take a video of it starting up and running on Monday morning. Hopefully that will help bring in a few more bids. :) |
Now the ATV is at 2150 views, 56 watchers and 5 bids with 1 day 6 hours left before it ends.
I've had a shit ton of people email me asking all kinds of questions about it. The guy I'm selling it for keeps telling me "its not a Mercedes its a 1986 honda atv, what do they expect", but I had to stress to him that we need to answer the questions if we want the most bidders. Act like an asshole and people will fucking walk away from it. Luckily he trusts me so I we took it out yesterday morning and I took a quick video of him starting it up and taking it for a couple laps. This way people can see that it starts right up, runs, muffler and baffle are intact, tires hold air, automatic clutch works, etc etc. I answered their questions regardless, but this way they can see for themselves. The triple carb setup is going up today. I'm still not certain how much I'm going to list it for, but I figure this first time around I'll just test the water with something high. See if I get any offers. I had a guy on another forum tell me to take everything apart and completely rebuild the carbs, then sell it ready to bolt on. No way in fuck I'm ruining the nostalgia factor of this thing. |
Not sure what's gayer, your six pack or that old dude dickin' around on a child's toy.

So you ever end up installing that hand dryer so you and your "brothers" can take turns sticking your dicks into it? :giggle:

my uncle is huge into honda 3 wheelers and shit. I just listed the carb setup a couple minutes ago. The reserve is high, but I'm hoping the right crowd finds it and it goes. :) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...e=STRK:MESE:IT |
Hmm....i guess $1 isn't going to get it :(

When I first started all of this I was working with the guy in the video above at his body shop, cleaning out some of the parts in the backroom. I listed a older Mustang (maybe 70's) bumper for .99 with no reserve and it only sold for a fucking dollar! It wasn't even worth it to pack and ship the damn thing, but I did. The buyer sent me an email afterwards saying he couldn't believe he got it for a $1! Live and learn. |

That's my buddy that did all the bodywork to my car. I don't think he was all that excited about being in the video but his son wasn't around to do it.

Less than 2 hours left on the ATV!! 2600 views, 61 watchers, 7 bids and climbing!
The manifold/carb setup is already at $102! Only $1898 to go! lol I decided to call and make an appointment with an accountant today. Things are getting serious and I need some help figuring everything out. I have at least a years worth of work lined up ahead of me, just by word of mouth. Everyone that likes to get involved has something to say and everyone's telling me something different. So before I go any further with this shit I'm going to find out everything I need to know before I go all in. |
