50 trim SRT4 says feed me
Took a ride in a very fun SRT4 tonight. Interesting acceleration to say the least. The kid is still in his teens and he is already doing things with cars that I only wish I had the money for (he's connected to money). He's been toying around with a dual ball bearing 50 trim turbo that he got a month or so ago. After getting a new new clutch in, he took me for a 25psi ride. Third gear nearly has traction problems as it torque steers like a ************, and second is nearly useless if the turbo spools up lol.
I gotta say, I haven't been giggle happy in a while, but watching a cocky 50+ year old in a C5 vette try to leave us behind made my day- er, night. Okay.. So the SRT picked the fight, but Vette-man bit and chewed. Right as we got full boost we past the Vette before the top of third gear... While starting the race in third gear. I mean. If the guy had kept going, and we got to use fourth, I'd speculate on bus lengths. I'll see if I can get vid of it tomorrow, because he's already raced one SC300 (actual GTE w/big single swap from a downed Supra) and there's another one that pulled him a few weeks back that he wants a re-run with tomorrow.
CLIFF NOTES: Rode in a a beef eating turbo Neon. Pulled a Vette on the highway right when boost built up (Which is usually like 3,500 RPM)... felt slight neck pains. I like turbo's now.
P.S. I'm going to go suicidal if I don't get boost soon.

So, met up with the guys again last night. 2 single turbo Supra's, both over 600whp, the Lexus which I found is pushing 500whp, a very fast late model turbo 240, and then a modded WRX and Evo. There was also a liter bike that the Lexus wanted to race.
The Lexus, liter bike and the SRT lined up and went at it on the way out of town. Lexus and liter bike were neck and neck, while the SRT got left behind. He got walked pretty good, but for a 4 cyl. on 25lbs he did quite alright. I rode in the WRX which was one of the slower cars. We had to play catch up after everyone took off. Met at a gas station out of town and let the cars cool off. I walked around and tried to take a couple pics of the cars. The Lexus was the center of attention. We hung out for about 20 min and headed back into town on the highway again.
This time the bike, SRT and SC300 got a better line up. We took off in the WRX just before the race started. By the time we hit 100, the three vehicles passed us like we weren't even moving. Which says something, because that WRX is quick. Nothing like the SRT, but still decent. Found out that the Subie was actually quicker than the modded Evo. That was kinda fun. As everyone exited the highway, they all sneezed and spooled under the overpass by the stop light. This is where the night took a turn. Nothing major.
I heard a ticking from the WRX. Thought nothing of it. Then I noticed it was kinda loud. Driver noticed too. Turned out, he got rod knock while boosting up under the overpass with everyone else. Whoops lol. Got back to a parking lot and checked everything out. He was happy about it, because he needed an excuse for some of the work he's been wanting to do. Glad that worked out for him. I had fun. There was nearly no light, so the pics I took turned out like crap. Oh well. Everyone was cool and the cars looked nice. It was great.

Nah, this SRT guy is cool. He'll bullshit with anyone and he's eager to learn. He doesn't know all that much about cars and he doesn't argue much with anyone. He's one of the few that I've gotten along with. I know about 4 guys with SRT4's. Never thought about it, but they're all pretty cool. The other guys seem to be dick wrinkles and act like they're driving God's gift to FWD. And some how that makes them better than other people. I'm really not a fan of FWD, but once you get on the highway and prove that it'll beat a handful of fast cars, the drive wheel factor seems less important.

lol, It IS a Neon. What else would it be? By that definition, the SRT10 truck and SRT10 Viper are no longer a Ram or Viper. They are one and the same. Or what about the Nitro SRT? Is it the same SRT4 as the Neon? Nope. Its a Neon, just like the SRT10 truck is still a Dodge ram. I love getting into arguments with Neon owners about all that.

Ehhhhhhh. The trend seems to be that everyone I see driving a [SRT4, Mustang, EVO, Camaro, Corvette, BMW, etc.] is a complete and utter douchebag. That and their driving is pretty obnoxious too. I'll pass.
fixed.
I have a pretty sure-fire way of telling who's who among other SRT owners. If I call my car a "Neon" and their panties get wadded up, then I know which category they fall into.
