there can be only one Magna guys he makes some very valid points though i would like to assure everyone i have nvr been to arkansas nor do i ever wanna go there. Yeah all those guys cept ronie coleman are pretty damn stupid.

I see alot of people donwing being strong and working out etc. Very few of them i have ever met are a decent size or in any kind of good shape. Being strong is healthy I personally would be more inclined to interact with someone who had some muscle mass as i would a lard ass or a shifty lil weasel. At least the people with abit of muscle to them worked at something at one point of there lives at least once.
When i was 17 i seriusly just wanted to get past 400 lbs bench just cause i thought it was a reasonable gaol and I would realy feel like i had accomplished something. who knows i still might but for now im happy to just maintain the strenght i have. No shame in being about 50 lbs short. Esp when the majority of the males in the US are in the 150-180 lbs range. Just do what you love to do man get strong and the look will follow eventualy.

Creatine phosphate = phosphate storage for easy ATP synthesis, it kind of makes sense that could get you to make a few reps more.

Just cause you bench alot doesn't mean your big. I maxed out at 405 and I've seen people do 495 and were smaller then me. It all depends if you are a power lifter or BB.

I would never want to be any where near as huge as any of those guys in those pics. They just don't look good. As far as being slow cause of size I think that's true up to a certain point. look at some of those WWE guys, they're huge and can fly around the ring. Also look at some NFL players. Brandon Jacobs (Giants) for example, dude is 6'4" 264 lbs and pretty damn fast. This is Adrian Peterson (Vikings) dude can flat out fly!

^ Now we are talking professionals. These guys just aren't anybody, they are gifted. Not your average joe can accomplish what some of these football guys can do. There are always going to be exceptions.

I see it everyday, these huge guys lift a ton of weight, but can't hack the 6-8 mile runs we do.

Yes they are professionals, but I'm just stating the fact that big does not equal slow. As for the "average Joe" well, does he really need to be fast and able to run 6-8 miles? IMO no.

No friends? :loser: I would consider myself to be quite strong, while not being bulky, but I just can't understand some people that just want to be ridiculously big and strong. I think it still comes down to trying to compensate for something they don't have (not specifically the size of their penis). People can try and deny it all day, and play the "it's useful to be strong" angle, but I don't buy that shit for a minute. 95% of the people that try and get big are only doing it to try and help a self esteem issue or something. And no I'm not talking about people that just weight train and lift weights recreationally, but the guys that hit the gym for hours a day, every day, drink nothing but supplemental drinks and are just really overboard with the shit. Like I said, I understand wanting to be strong and lifting, which I do, but you can take it too far.

The thing is the more you work out the more weight you put up. If I do 200lbs. I won't get a good work out. It's like everything some people are happy with 200hp but some people want more, same goes with working out some people want to be tone and some people want to be the biggest dude at the gym. Some of you guys think it's stupid and pointless to waste your life into BB but I bet the BB's think you guys are stupid for dumping tons of money and time into a car to make it faster.

i got into power lifting not to compensate for anything but once you start it becomes a drug pushing yourself farther and farther. the high you get on a really heavy lift is hard to describe and for the average joe they just don't get it and will never will.
your post is very sterotypical of what the average person thinks guys don't train for hours a day you have between 45 mins to an hour to lift after that it's over your just tearing down muscle after that. for power lifters it's a much shorter range we want a brief power burst and thats what we train for not size hence the size difference between bodybuilders and power lifters.
and the guy that do spend hours at the gym are working there mouth far more than there body. one thing once you get hooked your pretty much in it for life between cars and powerlifting id choose power lifting.

this is true i respect anyone who can dedicate themsleves to there sport. and for guys just going to the gym the die hards are not assholes and will prob be more than happy to help you out.
if not there just an asshole in real life not because they lift weights. i try to go out of my way to help people out

I find it funny that people always attempt to counter someone's strength with making up a weakness. IE: Gym rats are gay or overcompensating.

If you can lift 400 lbs, you can push a motor off of you. If you cant...you cant. The ability speaks for itself. And where is this 95% shit coming from?

Many people struggle with personal issues. I've met more annorexic male body builders than I thought I ever would, and body building has been their savior. It gave them a reason to eat, a drive to. It has given people health, strength, confidence, personal drive.
Its not only a physical struggle/goal, but a mental one.
