TS = Money with many companies. Usually about 20K more a year with a TS over a Secret.

I'm Security Forces in the Air force, and going to be a Combat Arms Training Instructor in January. Can't wait to hit the riverwalk (river crawl) in san antonio again.

Also intel usually has a cushy life. You usually work in AC all the time, work regular office hours, with weekend and holidays off and when deployed you usually have it pretty nice too. I am in civil service as an antiterrorism advisor and work with them on a regular basis. I was also security forces for my 23 years in and worked with them often. You also get to see all the good secret stuff that most people never even hear about

Good god how did you do SF for that long? I have been trying to get out of this career field since 07. Just finally got a retrain. (But I'm still in SF, just have it a little bit easier.)

It grew on me after a while. Up until the 15 year point it was awesome. Remeber, I was in 23 years, I came in in 82 and things were a lot different back then . I did things and went to places that were just unbelievable. Now all they do is go back and forth to the desert. Plus, by the time it started getting crappy I was part of managment and things were a little better, and I was almost done so there was no real need to retrain. I personally don't recommend it now unless you like to feel like you are in the Army but have the quality of life of the Air Force. I don't regret it, because of SF, my last 4 year was spent in Antiterrorism specifically, which set me up for a pretty decent job when I got out. 75K plus my retirement check to sit behind a desk and give advice...not a bad gig IMO

So since I took my ASVAB, my recruiter sent me all over the damn state to get paperwork from my various traffic violations (none since '06 WOOT!!) had me go to my old doctor to get my medical records, had me get two more reference letters and have them notarized, write a letter myself stating why I wanted to join the air force etc.. etc.... Well I was suppost to drop that off to her and talk with her this morning at 9AM...she wasn't there by 930 so i called her cell...."oh yea, i forgot i had something to do this morning so just leave the stuff under my door and I'll call you when i get in." So I left the stuff there, came home..waited about 4 hours and called her office "Oh i have it right here but prolly won't be able to look at it until tomorrow, oh wait..i gotta go to richmond tomorrow for the nascar race so it'll be monday, i'll call you then."

FUCK, I wanna go take my damn physical tomorrow and get this shit moving, any advice on speeding the process up?

Sorry if I ran on and on a lil bit and made that hard to read, just a little irritated right now.

It'll happen. Be patient.

You'll be in SA for your initial hazing soon enough.

I just wanna get to my damn physical. I'm worried about my hearing keeping me from getting in and just wanna get it over with if that's the case.

You have to be patient, recruiters are busy all the time. It took the wife some time to even get to Meps, and wait for the planets to align to get her there. And all this was finished in July. She doesn't even go to basic until November.

Its worth it when its all done. The process is a pain.
