I bought a set of those NRG seats a while back and they were comfortable. The shoulder wings and brackets were too wide to fit in my car (NB) and I returned them. I ended up getting Ultrashield seats. Ultrashield has changed the seat cover style, so they don't have much padding on the bottom. I added a layer of foam to the bottom and they are great.

^^^I am waiting on my Spec Miata Ultrashield seat now. I plan on adding some padding for my *** and my head just in case I get whacked by some dumb *** on their cell phone...
I wanted to buy the NRG seats so bad but my brain and my willingness to live through a tough wreck won out again. I would really love to hear from somebody that has been in a wreck with these...

Sean, I'd say since you're planning on driving the car on the street for the most part, keep the nice set of stock seats you have in the car when you're just driving around and get an UltraShield for track use. The UltraShields Nick has in his NA are really nice but not daily friendly as-is, you could add some padding for that though as 99mx5 said. But swapping a seat out takes 10 minutes at the most.
But if you end up getting a set of seats, I'd like to buy my old stock seats back.

I have a Sparco Sprint in my Miata, which IMO is both really good and dirt cheap. Car is mostly used on track and of course to-and-from track, but not seldom driven several hours at the time. Very comfortable for being a FIA approved race seat. Better then the Mazda stock seat, actually.
I am 175cm (my body, not my *****) and 72kg and I fit perfectly in the seat with a 6-point harness.
Edit: Just realized, you guys don't give a crap about FIA-approval, do you?
