Anyone actually selling cars right now

I've been trying to sell my 97 turbo for I guess 4-5 months now and I can seem to get much of a budge. I have yet to even have 1 test drive. I've listed it on Craigslist, ebay, autotrader, window signs, word of mouth and etc. and I can't even get a nudge. I've sold 7 cars in my life-time and never had this problem before. Is this really just the economy or what? I look on craigslist and see miata's at ridiculously cheap prices. A year ago my car at 5 grand would have sold fast but now, compared to other miatas, the price is high.

I'm seriously just thinking about dropping it from insurance and parking it for a while until things start to improve. I just won't let the car go for under 5...no way, no how.

Economy is horrible. Unless you're giving it away at a steal of a price, no one will buy it.

I managed to sell my supercharged miata in almost 100% running order for $5000 in april just before everything really went to shit.
It was a steal of a deal price.
Then i traded my motorcycle for an mk3 VR6 GTI and i ended up flipping the car for $500 more than what i was asking for the bike.
Then i bought a subaru Legacy daily for $900 and i ended up selling it for $500 on a craigslist ad but i could hardly even give it away.

Its not your car man its just the economy. keep trying, if you werent so far away id consider it as im looking for another miata granted i want to start from scratch this time now that i have a nice daily driver.

My turbo Nb sold in 8 days... but my price was very very reasonable, well within what a stock miata would go for with the same mileage.

See that's the problem... I can't afford to sell this thing for a stock miata price:-/

i'm looking for a 99-00 to strip and track and every one thinks they can get more then it's worth right now. so stupid and pissing me off

i sold my naturally aspirated NA 2 years ago for $5.5k... i probably would have hard time trying to get $4k for it nowadays.

It took me forever to sell my CRX, and I ended up taking way less for it than I'd have liked (5k). Hoping to get 11-12k for the SRT4...

Do you have a craigslist ad for "NB with blown motor" or something like that? I've had some local (Baltimore) offers when I was looking for another NB body for another LS1 swap. Usually in the $1800-$2500 range. I figure if you did that and picked up a cheap donor motor then sold of the stuff you strip you'd be good to go.

Well, I finally brought it over from the old duplex to the new house so I'm just going to park it and take it off insurance. Does anyone know if it is okay to let an inspection slide? I'm going to keep up the registration and what not but since the car isn't done I don't want some punk-ass kid dogging it during an inspection:-/

Texas inspection only needed when you're on the road.

Just roll up to a local sticker place when you start driving again. They don't care if it's been years...as long as it passes and has valid insurance.

Cool, thanks.

Have you considered parting it out and returning it to stock? Prob will get more more this way in the long run.

Exactly what I was gonna say. Seems everyone is parting these days in order to get to their pre-determined price point. Sucks but thats just what it is for now.
