My wife was there a few years ago on business. Time stood still on the island.

You'll find many "jineteras" (street prostitutes). The beaches are really good and if you're going to be close to Havana (which is actually Habana in Spanish lol!) look for a place called: "La Bodeguita" which makes mojitos and it's the place where Hemingway used to spend most of the time.

Have fun but don't forget that it's not a democracy. You don't want to mess with anything they would consider illegal.

I'm going to a hotel in Varadero, partly on behalf of my job. I do want to make a trip to Havana tho.
