By the way Stein, (proguru here) the subframe is holding together like a champ. My welds are not nearly as clean as I did mine in the car. I've been beating it pretty good, and she's holding.
The video that I posted is Landon's car(MX5.7). That thing is wicked fast. I'd be nearly a full second faster at his altitude, but I'm hoping to be running mid 12s on street tires at Bandimere this summer. |

That's Landon's car out of Iowa (I think that is where he's from). He's in the 10s. Mine is a 12s car at Bandimere (5200ft). I'm thinking that mine would run nearly a second faster at his altitude. I have a supercharger for it, but I'm not sure that I want to chop up the front anymore to fit it. I may just put a wet nitrous plate on it to get me in the 11s.

Well im only 19...going on 20 so i dont get to many PDI's. But what engine if you did a swap would you want in the miata the LS3 or new 5.0L.
|
Ls3 ftmfw!!!!!!!!
|
My understanding is that the new 5.0L is as wide as the 4.6 so it won't fit. Even if it did fit I'd go LS all the way.

My understanding is that it is the next gen ls engine with the same outer dims. I could be wrong, but I think that there is a guy doing a swap with one right now.

You can more or less sawp an LS7 into a 5th gen Camaro as a bolt-in affair. Its externaly identical to the LS3 save for the dry-sump.
Its a sweet engine, but to be honest I would take my money and build up an LSX of cheaper vintage. You can exceed the performance of the LS7 pretty easily and reliably on any LSX with a top notch heads/cam setup. |
