Anyone working from home?

So Im foutunate enough to be able to listen to the radio all day while at work, specifically Sirius satellite radio. I hear all day advertisements about working at home and making $15,000 a month etc, etc. So im just wondering if anyone here has ever tried working from home and were you successful at it. Please tell me your story.

Phil

Who wants to stay home all day?
I guess when I get older it might be nice, at this point in my life the last thing I want to do is never leave my house.

My company went 100% virtual back in March. My office phone is VOIP, and I log into the servers to do my thing. Surf the net, listen to the radio, watch TV, its all good. Plus the benefit of not having to fill up the gas tank except once a month or so. No eating out for lunch. It saves a ton of money. I don't make 15k per month, and I miss the comraderie that you get in an office environment.

Forgot to add, that my wife doesnt work, so it can be fun....Secretary under the deck and all...

I live in dorms at school, where I occasionally work. Does that count?

Shit half the time I don't work from work. Government FTW! :)

What kinda work do you do?

I myself wouldnt wanna work from home, but I know my wife would, and if I could find some way for her to work from home it would save me $560.00 a month in daycare. Thats the kicker.

The stay at home mom's i know that work usually do things like sell tuperware, avon and crap like that. I actually know one woman who is selling some sort of makeup, and skin care products that makes a few grand a month doing so. Once you have a client base it's not so bad they say. It can just be tough getting started.

Hilton reservations is looking for part time reservationist to work from home. My wife is going to look into that for evening dough. She is also a full specialist, licensed Esthetician, and we have a full fledged Salon here at the house.

I'm half way thru my 15th year. And staying at home is quite nice- especially if you have a nice house and the typical work commute in your town is an hour + one way.

I work at the office from 7:30 - 6:30, go home for dinner an frequently work another few hours after dinner at home. Does that count?

I wish I worked from home :( office is 46 miles away one way. Then I have to go to the sales territory and who knows where that is sometimes.

Drive 5k a freakin month, depressing on the gas bill but ya gotta do what you gotta do.

find me a job from home, I'd love to save $600/month in gas

I think it's a bit retarded that i DON'T work from home. There is very little reason to go to the office. I have an internet connection at my house, a phone at my house (we are about to install a VOIP system, so i could have an extension at my house if i wanted one), and i could setup an IPSEC tunnel to the office with my router.

why do i need to be at my desk? I'm on the road 75% of the time anyway. Maybe I'll mention it at the next meeting. :)

I can see my CHU (Containerized Housing Unit) from the bunker I work in. Dose that count?

Pitlab77 09-22-2007 11:00 AM

I grade papers at home and have remote access. Does that count?
