I am in love with their 120 minute beer, but damn is it strong. I drank two the other night and I was falling down drunk. I had no idea they were that strong.

there was some pumpkin ale open at a wine place we went to that they were tasting... it wasn't the dogfish, but it did smell like a pumpkin pie.

I don't like Pumpkin flavored beer as much as I like a Pumpkin Shake from Culvers.
Those are good.

OOooo Culvers...

I haven't heard that name in years. When I lived in WI I would ride my bike down to the bottom of the hill and get a cone of the flavor-of-the-day for $1 even. Good times.

We /just/ got culvers in Phoenix. Mmmm. Wonder if they'd be open after work... >.>;

Maybe they'll go to CA too?

It's probably in my best interest to not be around a Culver's again, lest I get fat again one scoop as a time.

I've never had a DogFish Head Ale, let alone the pumpkin flavor, but if I could get a bottle right now, I'd drink 1. That brewery is in DE, isn't it?
I think we should start a thread...you know how we have the once a year NE Dyno Day in DE? We should do a miataturbo.net microbrewery tour. Example: I live in PA about 20 minutes from Kutztown, home of the Golden Avalanche brewery, 20 minutes from Pottsville, home of Yuengling brewery, and there is a pile more around. There is 1 in Bethlehem, can't remember the name, but the bar in there is called "the Steel Garden". I'm not saying, drive around and get shitfaced. I'm saying drive to 1 place, drink a pint...drive a few fun roads and an hour later wind up at the next place, etc.

Between Halloween and Turkey Day is the only time they have the pumpkin. Try and you'll wait for it each year.

Bonus points for anyone who knows why Dogfish Head spells it "punkin."

Yeah, the 120 IPA is some serious stuff.

I'm a fan, but I suspect that if I could get the pumpkin beer all year round, I'd be less of a fan. There's something about it being a seasonal thing.

Yes, the main Dogfish Head breweries are in Delaware, although I think there are a couple smaller ones in the Baltimore/DC area (y8s chime in here please). The main one is over in Millsboro, DE.

If you're touring microbreweries in the area, especially if somehow connected to the dyno day, it would be kind of silly *not* to hit Iron Hill brewery/restaurant right on Main Street in Newark.

Come on out to Oregon or Washington. With all the rain here, there's plenty of beer drinking going on to cheer us up / drown our sorrows. There are more than 50 microbreweries in the Portland Metro area alone.

Mobius is likely the most knowledgeable board member RE NW microbrews.

Bethlehem Brew Works, they make a great beer - The Brew Works » Serving the Lehigh Valley Since 1998

Victory is also brewed locally, and they have a brew pub as well - Victory Brewing Company :: Award Winning Craft Brewery

Weyerbacher Brewing Company is also local, but I believe they have no brewpub.
