Default How much $ to respray a bumper?

This is for my OTM, a subaru forester. The paint on the rear bumper scrapes if you look at it wrong, right down to the plastic. I'm planning on selling it in the coming weeks and some asshat really scraped the bumper up the other day so I'm considering getting it resprayed as otherwise the care is flawless. The bumper has become an eyesore. So how much do you think is reasonable to get just a bumper resprayed?

About $50 if you DIY.

Or go back to NYC and start kicking people's doors in until you find out who hit you (that was you and this car right? ) and it'll be free

Pull the bumper yourself, find a small shop and ask someone to hit it on the weekend. Should be $100-150.

Did this on my BRG, except it was a large shop. My buddy is the head painter. I disassembled the whole thing, took it in on Friday and picked it up Monday night. They fixed all of the little dings, sanded the whole car to remove the clear that had been sprayed on it, sealed, two coats base, three clear. $1000.

that's what I was hoping to hear. Thanks guys. I actually wrote down the plate number of the douche who bumped me but there's no point in trying to do anything about it. And actually the way the scrape is placed on the bumper I think someone also hit it while it was parked because part of it is going in the wrong direction....

So I went to 3 places locally. One wanted $350 another $250 and one (and I could tell this guy was a jerk the moment he opened his mouth) wanted $500. The bumper has to be removed (I don't have the time right now to do it myself) scratches/gouges fixed and then resprayed. I'm going with the $250 obviously.

No I didn't check Maaco. The quality depends on the shop right? I'm a little worried that a Maaco job would look worse then the scratches on the bumper now. Overspray, etc.

they really aren't that bad lol, it'll look 10x better if you took the bumper off yourself and gave it to em. find the painter and slip him an extra 20$ (cause its only the bumper) and it'll look good.

if you want i'll show you pics of several maaco jobs on some of my friends cars. they look great.
