I'd run another cable myself. I've used A/V transmitters before. They are cool, but mine had limited range, and goofed up sometimes. Granted it was old. It's not hard to run a new line if you have acess to the attic. Odds are, the cable lines for the whole house are strung through the attic and drop down into the wall where they are.

Also depends on whether you mind having everyone else being able to see what's on the camera as well.

If it's wireless, assume someone else can monitor/interfere with it. (Yes, that includes your "secure" 802.xyz wireless with a 28800 bit key.) The "better" security only means they need more time. If it's the pimply faced kid next door, he has all the time in the world.

That said, there are some things that don't have ready-made (read: everyone has downloaded it) tools to break, e.g. car alarm remotes, garage door openers, etc. The manufacturers keep the algorithms secret under NDA, though that's more to stop competitors from selling you a knock-off, than your protection. But same applies; assume it could be monitored/interfered with. Real question is, do you care?
