AF/Navy.. they're both shamtastic IMHO. I mean.. you can bring laptops to OCS? WTF? I wasn't allowed even outside books and magazines until after basic..
It's not OCS, it's OIS. They are two completely different schools. OIS types are doctors, nurses, and lawyers. It's a limited cirriculum and taught by other Navy Officers and Chiefs. OCS is a 3months course for aviators, SWO's, SEALS, submariners, intel, supply, engineers, and a few others. It's run mainly by USMC Drill Instructors. |

Clinical Psychologist, huh. Welp, your gana be busy with all these messed up ppl coming from the sandbox. Someone told me the statistics for the Army is about 1 in 4 comeing back from deployments with some type of psy issue. On the other hand if you get out, on the civ side you will make bank! Especially if you stay in the DC area. Anyways, GOODLUCK to ya, BROOOOTHER!!!

You're gonna be amazed at how quickly your body adjust to the new hours. What time the gotcha gettin' up? For me, it was reville at 0500 and straight out for PT at 0515, w/taps at 2200... for 3months. After 2 weeks, you'll be used to it.
Went like this. Day T-1 Sat around, laughed and joked like it was summer camp. Day 0 Same as Day T-1 except us prior service people were expecting Day 2's wake up call on Day 1. Day 1 0500 reville - Height and Weight, marched us around to get oriented and inbriefed. Day 2 0330 wake-up call - Real RDC's show up for the first time and harass us. Yelled at just about everyone but me and a few other priors who were smart enough to already have bunks made at 0300 and be in "uniform of the day" PT gear. Started in with the pushups. More running about base, Uniform Store. Day 3 0400 Urinanalysis - Got yelled at for not being able to control my body and forced to drink 5 liters of water... pissed like hell the rest of the day. 1st day of PT in the afternoon. Passed 3rd class swim test that AM. Day 4 0400 PRT (Physical Readiness Test) 40% failure rate. Nice. 2nd Fastest Runner was an Ensign named, get this... Ensign Ensign. Also happed to be one of the shortest girls here... runs like greased lightning (marathon runner.) Went to dental almost all day. Briefings the rest of the day after that. Day 5 0400 Went to briefings, did more PT. Pretty busy day of briefings for travel benefits, english and writing bios. Day 6 0500 Went to uniform store to get tailored uniforms. Got back, had lunch, got uniforms squared away, went down for inspection. Granted liberty for rest of Sat and Sun. Day 7 0600 Got up "late" today. Not too bad. Mark PS - Taps is 2200. |
Sounds like fun. How'd you do on the PRT?

Anyway PRT scores... sad. 71 situps, 50 pushups and a 14:28 run. I passed though. Good Medium (or low I can't remember) overall. Mark |
