Shots today (wife said it was like taking the cats to the vet). What a waste of a day off. No side effects at all, other than minor soreness at the injection site. They said 2-7 days for it to take affect, but I could swear the aches are diminished some 10 hours later.

Hopefully this does the trick and I can get on with dying of an aneurism.

Well don't just wait around for it to happen. Go out and grab your aneurism by the *****, man!

Very good news this week. After CT scan, I met with the vascular surgeon. No operation for the aneurism, as it hasn't gotten big enough to be an issue. Ultrasound scans scheduled 6 months out. Wait and see. It may still come to surgery, but not for at least a year.

Back MRI follow-up was good as well. Neuropathy is the diagnosis, or continued pain from the damaged nerve. Nerve is still slightly swollen, and that is causing residual pain. Surgeon sees no reason to operate (nothing there to operate on), and believes things will continue to improve over time. He said 1-2 years, not 6-9 months. Pain management is available if I think I need it (I don't). Hopefully, it will get better. If not, I can handle it with some occasional aspirin.

All in all, a pretty good week.

Good to hear rleete. Always nice getting good news from the doctor. I'm having one of my bad weeks with a pinched nerve in my neck. Occasionally randomly happens due to breaking my neck and compressing 2 vertebrae back many years ago.

Hope no need for surgery is necessary.

Have you had a scan? If it's anything like the pain I was having, it's worth looking into. I reported the sciatica to my regular doc, and then when it started getting worse (6-8 weeks later) I had it on record. That way the insurance won't balk so much at approving an MRI.

I would do the surgery again in a heartbeat. Hell, had I known, I'd have insisted on it earlier.

I have 2 bad discs in my neck that manifests in left shoulder and left arm pain. Tracking used to aggravate the heck out of it. When I bought and started using a HANS, it helped a lot.
