that sucks bad, i had an experience like that in my 97, but i wasnt trying to drift. Bad alignment + bad tires + not used to miatas yet + pissed off and driving too agressively =

I was able to repair it to nearly 90% myself though. Hammered, bondoed, and painted the fender, rubbed and polished scuffed the paint, bent the headlights back into position, and dabbed some touchup paint around. came out good enough for me since i spent less that $100 on supplies

That was too funny, kids...

Shit, that must have been a hell of an accident to get that jack undah your tranny!

So was it a pain to take the engine out with tranny still in? I have to do a motor swap here in a few weeks and im considering that route. figure it might make lining up the mounts easier + no tranny fluid hassle (I freakin hate that shit)

Braineack 12-01-2006 10:27 AM

guy that helped me figured it would be easier that way. so that's what we did.

mx5jon 12-01-2006 08:05 PM

I was waiting for another car to come around the corner and total theirs while they sat there gawking at the damage. I would say I was dissapointed except that the poor slob that would hit it wouldn't deserve it.

BTW, pulled the motor on mine and left the tranny in - wouldn't do it that way again. Pull em' both.

yeah frame damage, new door, fuck ton of new body stuff, fucked the Rad, ABS fucked, the car pretty much needed a new front clip. Also only like 14,000 GC8's were made in america so body parts are god-damn spendy. but parts + labor came out to 10kish before my insurance just said F it and totaled it then i got a miata =P

getsidewaysd1 12-02-2006 07:14 AM

magnamx-5 12-10-2006 05:53 AM

185-60-r14 are not drift tires why the fuck didnt they pull the fender out from the tire and get away before the cops show up?

Arkmage 12-10-2006 12:55 PM
