For those who care, North Coast Brewing is "temporarily suspending production" of Brother Thelonious Belgian style abbey ale due to pending litigation regarding the use of the name. Merch was 50% off at the brewery store in Ft. Bragg and the beer will no longer be produced after June 30st until the suit is settled.

:(

This probably explains why I have recently been seeing kegs of it popping up in various taprooms recently.

Still shaking the cobwebs off from a tasting that some friends put on last night featuring two variants of Black Tuesday.

First bottle:

Second bottle:

These beers are in a whole other class - just mind blowing.

I'm not usually big in IPA's, but I happened to be in the right place at the right time the other day. Got to try one that we NEVER see out here on the left coast. I have to say it was pretty fantastic; lived up the hype.

pFriem Mango Milkshake, experimental IPA #006.

I like big beers. This is a big beer, and somewhat unusual. Low IBU for an IPA, with a sweet mango finish. 7.9%, 35 IBU

I like the **** out of this beer. Recommended. I had two.

Boneyard Notorious IPA

80 IBU, 11.5% ABV

This is my new favorite beer. It's like Boneyard RPM (my previously favorite IPA) X 3. It is spectabulous. Fantacular.

What do I like about it?

Big body. Big hops. Big finish hops. Big ABV. Big!

Beyond that, it has all of the spectacular bigness, including bittering hops and finish hops, and then has this apricot finish. Makes it super easy to drink. Nothing complicated about this beer. IPA peeps will like it. I believe even beer noobs will like it, because of the sweet finish.

I loves it. Hard to find, and Boneyard at this time does not package, so if you can't find it on draft, you can't find it. I have made it my mission to make my next Beer Fridge refill to be this beer. It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

Dropped by a new local-ish bottle room to check it out. Their tap list was, um, impressive.

If you like a darker beer, that Deschutes jubleale from 2015 should be pretty good. It is brewed to age really well.

Yep, that one should be fantastic too. I am a big fan of Deschutes' limited production stuff. I have a Black Butte 28 and a pair of 29s in my cellar, as well as a 2016 Abyss and 2017 Dissident. I opened my Black Butte 27 for my 30th birthday party a couple of weeks ago and it was incredible.

That was only half the list, too. Might have to spend the day there tomorrow and Lyft home afterwards.

Almanac Rose, and a vertical epic of W00tstouts. Nice.

They must really be ramping up the production on that. I only got one bottle the first year, and had to drive to the brewery to get it.

They really have, at least to the point where even I can produce a 4-year vertical right out of my basement anymore. The original 2013 and 2014 (i.e 1.0 and 2.0), were much more limited. I'd drive a fair piece to get a bottle of either one of those myself.

Looks good. Where was that taproom located?

Man...I completely forgot about this thread.

Had this for brunch today...DIPA from "*** Clown". Their stuff has been getting progressively better.

This is my wife's current favorite...from "Burial Brewing". Don't think I've anything but excellent brews from there.

One of my work buddies has fairly regular deliveries from Tree House...usually more than he can drink on his own. I benefit greatly from this.

Do any members chase the Goose Island Bourbon County Barrel Stouts? Black Friday is the release day. I didn't get into them until last year - a buddy talked me into them. No variants for me just the standards. I think there are better barrel aged stouts, but the chase probably helps with the popularity.
