Boost Gauge
So how much do you guys think it would cost to get a boost gauge installed in my car?
|
the gauge is anywhere from20+ bucks install is in creativity. Mechanically all it is. is a splice in a vac line.
|
is it pretty easy? Can I just unplug the one they have it hooked up to now and wire it to the one i bought
|
It's simple as cake. Just tap it into any vacuum line that is on your intake manifold. The closer to the manifold the better. I have mine tapped into the vacuum line for my cruise control. A Megan Racing gauge, I got it for $39 shipped on eBay.
Honestly, to pay someone to do it would be a waste of money. |
alright but how do you tap into and with what im totally confused.

ok this is the one im getting after seeing the parts it comes with it looks easy as hell just getting it through the firewall could be hard any suggestions, remember this is for 96 talon |
It's easy, just use a vacuum "T" that's available at any car part store for about $2 for a plenty pack. It may come with a brass adapter to go from whatever size to a dinky sized PVC line like mine did. You just have to get a wee bit creative sometimes. Check my Cardomain site here...
http://www.cardomain.com/id/firedog25 It's listed under my Miata page somewhere, page 6 or 7. There's a pic of my engine bay and the black line that's T'ed in nearest the throttle body is my boost gauge line. I've shortened it since that picture because it looks like ass there. |

I installed my boost gauge in like 20 minutes.. just use a T.. I drilled my own firewall and mounted it up on the A-pillar on the drivers side. Pods are easy enough to get. |
