BOVs scare the crap otta me
Tonight as I was driving home, I was just cruising over some RR tracks and I heard a PSST, PSST behind me. I thought I had a flat from the tracks.
It turns out it was the sound of the BOV from the WRX behind me. That fucker scared the shit otta me - especially since he was so close on my ass. As a turbo newb, that's the SECOND time a BOV scared me like that. |
I enjoy scaring babies with my BOV
|
animal calls on BOVs can be very fun. it scares the crap out of people
|
I need to find a video, this chick I know in Canada is into cars and one of her friends put a duck call on his BOV. It never gets old.

Actually there is a youtube vid of a mk4 silver 1.8t vw owned by billy tylaska in the alamo parking lot with the duck-call. We laughed pretty hard that night. |
The Mopar BOV on my PT Cruiser is very loud and can be set off at will. Sounds like air brakes on a bus. I have turned many heads with it.
|
If I had a supercharger I'd probably get scared everytime I heard a BOV too.
|
I like it when people put train horns on their cars, they've made me jump. Never a BOV though.
Pussy. |

I'm working towards a silent bov, so when someone asks "what you got in there?" I can say "port and polish" and they won't suspect a thing. :gay:

I used my BOV to shut up some kids in a Camaro V6 running duals. I was passing them and they were pointing at my car and laughing, then they floored it and flew by. I let them get a little ahead, laid into it, then blew off when I was right next to them. Nothing as fun as watching a smile turn upside down!!! |

FWIW, the BOV is probably the biggest reason I chose SC over turbo. That's just too "in your face" for me. Little did I know that not all BOVs are that loud. |
Could have recirc'd that bitch. Why the bigger pulley?

As I said, at the time I was trying to decide between turbo and SC, I knew nothing about FI so I had no idea that the loud BOV was just the way turbos were. Now though, I'm thinking about a turbo as my next project IF I ever have the time and the money - which is why I;m on this Forum. |
