Brian Lock rapes your life in his GOTO R35 GTR
T-Hill looks like fun. |
He really did rape them. I saw a couple miata's out there. Anyone from here?
|

+1, that Mustang has to be a handful to drive. Awesome video.
|
I just looked at the build thread. I can't imagine how much fun it would be to rip apart a new car like that.
|
Dayam!!! those people got a lot $$$ to throw around guttin a brand new GTR. The picture of the stack of hoosiers is XXXX car porn
|
Holy crap. What is that GTR and the Mustang doing out there with SM's and Pro7's? The difference in speeds is ridiculous and unbelievably dangerous. Gee, lets start running spec racer fords with the DSR's.
|
I loved the slaloming between SM's down the front straight. One of them might've been an RX-7, but it was too fast to tell.

It's not even THAT impressive, IMO.
And its not that dangerous. Pretty much everyone out there is a seasoned racer and knows how to play together. I recently ran Savington's miata in ITE with SCCA (runs with a bunch of spec miatas that run race groups other than SM) and it was very similar. |
I know the blue and yellow miata... flatout-motorsports. They sponsor a girl i know from Uconn that races spec miata
|
lol. I think its a pretty good vid, better than 99% of teh youtube shit. I'd rather drive the mustang.
I need some wheel-to-wheel action. |
I'm more impressed with the Mustang.

The only time that the GTR could pass was when the driver made a mistake. It wasn't the car's fault. His lines looked sloppy as well, from what I could see. GTR driver looks like a good smooth driver. Equal drivers and the (relatively) old tech Mustang would hold its own. |
man the shifts are so quick... dsg ftw in this case.

And the Mustang probably cost 1/3 the price to build.

Doubt it.
Mustang GT = 30k GTR= 100k Say you invest 50k into each. __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Possibly. I haven't seen the GTR in person yet, but that Mustang is a very nice car.
|
The Mustang is on 335mm Hoosier A6s at all four corners. $30k doesn't even begin to cover it. :giggle:

Yeah I agree with the general feeling of this thread, that mustang is badass. Any info on it?

I'm talking stock Vs Stock. Mustang GT 30k, GTR 100k and off the show room floor the GTR is undoubtedly better. Unless you can prove other wise I have to believe that there is way less invested in the Mustang than the GTR and from that video it is just as competitive if not more.

The Mustang definitely has a lot more than that in it. Only thing making this close is the base price difference. |
The GT-R my boss co-drove/won Tire Rack's One Lap of America with this year just had an exhaust on it as far as power adders (Pretty much). Those cars are extremely impressive out of the box...probably one of the best 'super cars' for the money if you plan on racing.
And they are only like 80k new...;) |
Decent AI mustangs can be gotten around 10-20k used. A fairly competetive AIX car will cost 40-60k 2nd hand. Huge difference what it takes to be competetive in AIX.
|
I understand people thinking the mustang is impressive. but let's not forget that in the Thill trim, the GTR is what - 500 lbs heavier and obviously down on power in comparison to the Mustang. Brian is a heck of a driver having competed with him on many occassions. They've developed that car right. I can't wait to see it in time attack trim here in another week...
