BSG Geek Trivia

Earlier today, quite by accident, I happened to stumble across a PDF copy of the Battlestar Galactica series bible.

For those not involved in showbiz, a bible is a document set down by the creator(s) of any television show to lay out the backstory and establish certain fundamental rules for how the show will operate. It serves as a guide for the writers, to aid in continuity and ensure consistency with the creator's vision. It tells you (as a writer) what you may and may not do, what assumptions you should and should not hold about the characters and the premise, etc.

Even though the show is over and all the secrets are out, I found it to be an interesting read.

Here it is: Battlestar Galactica Series Bible.pdf

I'm sure it was just an accident. You know you were digging around for it on your HDD and couldn't find it. :giggle:

Good find though.

Cool find Joe.
I finally watched the last half of the final season when it made it out on BluRay.

The Plan is in my que now, still haven't seen it.

These BSG propaganda posters are gonna look good in the garage:

Heh.

The recently linked-to webcomic "Lucid TV" contained a reference to a book written by Michael Crichton called "Bible". As I am an avid Crichton fan, and yet had not heard of this title, I Wiki'd it. One of the several references to "bible" under disambiguation was "Bible (writing), reference document for testing consistency of fictional portrayals with a set of premises". Having read only the first couple of words, I clicked through it, and found a link to several series bibles, including the one for BSG.

On the plus side, I did learn of a final novel, completed prior to Crichton's death, entitled "Pirate Latitudes", which was released yesterday.

Ergo:

On the plusser side, I had totally forgotten about The Plan. It is currently at 68.7% of 3.02 GB, averaging about 950 kB/s down.
