Build A Coconut Carrying Cart (better than Joe's bunny game...)

Johnson Controls - ingenuitywelcome.com

I've got 91% efficient so far.

Miatamaniac92 02-17-2009 08:30 PM

Neat. 35% after 5 minutes.

I took the complex is awesome route, didnt work so well.. looked cool trying though :bowrofl:

bryantaylor 02-17-2009 08:50 PM

i was HOOKED on that game a couple of months again, along with everyone on my local board. they actually changed the banner on the top of the site because of it.

83% after 10 minutes. My design seems alright, just need more coordination getting it to the other end of the track quickly. There is some timing involved in doing the jumps right.

I have physics homework to do, this is distracting me lol.

How do I build a European swallow?

very similar to mine. Low C.o.G, long wheel base. I like what you did to hold the cocounts in there.

So I took the best things about my design and pat's, here is what I got:

I delivered all of the coconuts on the first try, but only got 85%. How do you get 100%? Just go faster?

the secret is to have lots of suspension travel (maybe also another drive wheel on the front so that while your nose plows into the ground your still pulling yourself along) and to get the coconuts into the vehicle as fast as possible

European swallows are non-migratory.

Motherf.. 15 seconds?? HTF?

I even tried reverse engineering (read:copying) mazda/nissan's cart and still nothing.

miatamania 02-18-2009 12:23 AM

Oh god this is addicting

Trent 02-18-2009 12:42 AM

I just did it in 13 seconds :)

well the main problem with that cart is that the back flap gets caught up on the coconut chute, which slows you down about 1 second at the start. After that everything is full throttle to the saw blades

Finally got 100% after a ton of 99s. (Time was 15s)

mazda/nissan 02-18-2009 01:23 PM

koto it could be your internet connect, I'm playing from the school right now and everything seems to be in slow motion, except for the timer.

http://i44.tinypic.com/2mcf690.jpg best I can do for now.

Braineack 02-18-2009 02:39 PM

I cant even get one wheel with nothing attached to it to the end before :17.

sbrian2 02-18-2009 02:41 PM

2nd try was 16 sec. 98%

sbrian2 02-18-2009 02:46 PM

alright just got 14 sec. 100%

14 seconds 100% efficiency...

Can't copy picture... took me a little while though...the secret...HUGE wheels

Speed of the computer seems to effect times. My wife's > 30sec on our old machine. I've seen 10sec (only 80%) on my 9 mth old PC.

Thanks Pat. I'm home sick today and this is a perfect way to kill time.

I have experimented with wheel sizes and I think a 6 unit diameter wheel gives you the best acceleration and top speed, and is large enough to get over that Belgian road

Ben 02-18-2009 06:04 PM

hmm my times are much longer than yalls. wonder if it's because of my old pentiumIII laptop?

9671111 02-18-2009 06:06 PM

Damn dude, 11 seconds and 100%. It was a pain in the ass trying to just barely make 12.

Ben 02-18-2009 07:35 PM

Man it takes me 10 seconds just to dump the coconuts into the cart. I need to try this on a better computer.

Braineack 02-18-2009 08:17 PM

lame my first design ever got me 80%, but it took me 33 secs at WOT!

i wonder what it'll do on this PC.

Torkel 02-19-2009 08:15 AM

98%. Do I strip out the cart or add a turbo?

NA6C-Guy 02-22-2009 09:33 PM

15/15 in :12 :fawk:

Ive been trying to come up with a way to make a carrier with locking lid that only has one large wheel, which can cross the course in under 8 seconds if done correctly. Cant make a latching lid mechanism that will hold. Made one work with a 2 wheeled motorcycle type vehicle though.
