Default Anyone race a new camaro?

I see these things at work all the time, ive been in one and drove one(PDI's pre delivery inspections) the 6 bangers, aka the cadillac motors are alright i dont prefer them. The 6.2 is pretty beefy but i cant tell which one is faster, id love to take my miata and another mechanic takes a camaro on the lot but that would never happen. And anytime i see one on the street its an old fart who wont race(yes its illegal). But anyways anyone ever have a chance to go 1 on 1 with a camaro?

I had a SS (what engine is that?) pull up beside me, and act like he wanted some, but there was alot of traffic, and i figured i would get beat at 7psi.

Edit: Oh and stranges, when i was a tech, we raced crap all the time.

+1, When I did PDI's all damn day every day at RK Chevrolet in VA Beach, VA...I had lots of fun. We had a ~1/2 mile stretch of perfectly straight road running parallel to I-64 just under a mile away from the dealership that we "owned" where we were supposed to do PDI's, there's a lot of Corvette owners in the VA Beach area that would shoot me if they knew some of the things that were done to their cars during PDI's,

Screw the Camaro, has anyone raced a new 5.0 Mustang? They claim 0-60 in 4.4 seconds.

There's a direct ratio between mustang horsepower/mods to mullet size.

You mean 'maro owners. Mustang owners are usually just idiots.

I also think the new 5.0 is cool, however it's sad that Ford has taken 13 years to rival the LS-series of motors.

Thank Transformers for reping the Camaro, and getting Ford to play ball.

no ****? damn, i thought that they would be more capable than that. I've only been able to work a race out of a tc vw and a dodge neon lately. The vw followed me and told me how he almost had me. I never got over 4000rpm and my 327 is still pulling at 6500. I had a good laugh.

If I hear, "He has a new Camaro!" one more time. I'll slice this girls throat. I can't wait til my cars fixed so I can put the kid to shame.

430HP Good.
2 tons Bad.

Which is why they run high 12s/low 13s mostly, despite pretty darn respectable traps. You have a car that makes about 70 more WHP than a 4th gen, but also sits about 400lbs heavier. On fricken 20 inch rims. Sothey are decently fast but not as much as 430HP ought to be.

I've long wanted a really clean Mustang LX. Ideally a notchback:

Or even a nice hatchback.
