Default Can not sleep

This is about the 4th night in a row that I have gotten about 3 hours of sleep. It's not like i'm not tired. I've gone running during the day. The A/C is working, the bed is comfy. I just keep tossing and turning it is annoying as hell. It is practically 5 am. The time I normally get up.

This sucks.

I did get some reading done last night though.

Seriously with all jokes aside what do you guys do when you cant sleep.

Excedrin PM. I take one, good for 6-8 hours of sleep, two is good for 8-10. Once I realized how strong two were, I started taking only one.

They won't put me to sleep, only keep me asleep once I'm unconscious.

I work nights, so this stuff even works at 9am.

Only issue is even one excedrin makese me groggy when I do wake up, it'll easily turn into a 10 hour nap. But after 8 hours of sleep , even only 7, you're not going to get any benefit.

Melatonin - it's a hormone you produce naturally that helps you sleep. Unlike many sleep medications, you wake up feeling like you have had a good sleep - and you will dream too.

The supplement ZMA works better for me than melatonin though neither has worked like they used to. I think I drink too much coffee and am acclimated to only getting 5-6 hours a night so trying to get more doesn't work.

Yeah I usually only sleep 5~6 hours. SO when your almost cutting out half of your daily sleep its really hard. I just conked out after a 6 mile run this morning. I feel like crap right now. I hate sleeping during the day. I feel so groggy afterwards.

I'm with hustler on heavy drinking. I am also a big fan of nyquil.

Another thing that I have tried and has worked was switching which direction you face in your bed. Swap where your head goes and put your feet there instead. It works usually. I read somewhere Ayrton Senna always pointed to the same direction when he slept.

Geez, 11 posts and no one told you to rub one out. Or get some. IDK what your family situation is.

Don't drink any caffeine after noon, if you smoke, don't smoke less than 3 hours before bed.

I've tried moving direction in bed, sleeping on the floor. Hopefully tonight I can get some sleep.

Alka-seltzer cold/flu conks me out. Maybe I should pick some up.

This happens to me a lot. I do so many things during the day and I get tired, but I'm not sleepy. What works for me is to just try and not think about anything. Think about the beach or something calm. If I can't sleep I usually just lay there and think about everything I have going on. Hope this helps. Lol.

If you have a CVS Pharmacy in your area, they have a product called "Sleep Aid" in soft gels. It is 50mg diphenhydramine hydrochloride (Benedryl) Works wonders and no side effects.

If not, liquid of the same stuff will do. Comes as an allergy medication. It is an antihistamine.

This. Just close your eyes and stare into the black void, and avoid any thoughts at all. No, really. It works for me.

Bust out a few battles on Pokemon Blue. Try to get that goddamn thunder badge with the squirtle you picked at the beginning. The stress will knock you right out.
